  1. Windrock orv or the windrock cg will work. There were far more razors than jeeps both at the cg and the park. Plenty of room for parking. www.windrockpark.com
  2. We like the park, 78,000 acres, miles of trails from improved gravel to large rock gardens, and everything in between. RV Park is away from the trails about three miles, so pretty quiet after 10:00. We have been there 4 or 5 times, but this was the first time since the campground opened. The CG makes it very convenient. The CG is wide open and only small trees, bu the lots are wide with plenty of room ob the b and c lanes. 60 foot x 60 foot sites. We stayed in B3 and had plenty of room for the truck, trailer and Jeep.
  3. We are at Windrock ORV, near Knoxville TN. packing up to head for Georgia today.
  4. Cedars of Lebanon State Park. Heading into Nashville.
  5. We are at Falls Creek Falls State Park in Tennessee. Very tight campground, neighbor with pick up blew a trailer tire on a rock on the cul de sac that we will need to use to exit our pull through. Wish us luck. We will head to Lynchburg TN, then Cedars of Lebanon SP tomorrow.
  6. Leaving(from Florida) midday today for Falls Creek Falls State Park in Tennessee.
  7. If you can join us for exploring the Daniel Boone Backcountry Byway, I can promise you some great scenery, and mild wheeling fun. Love to have you. Michael and Licia
  8. I will propose the offer to the wife, we will be kind of freewheeling it that last week of vacation. No definate plans except for Uwharrie. Thanks for the invite. We have been so impressed with the few other HDTers we have met so far. Everyone has been a cut above for sure. Michael

  10. We will be in Eastern Kentucky by June 28th, till July 8th.
  11. Grew up near Cleveland, still got family in Clyde. Got a little home sick from your post, but it passed. 😎Sunshine in Florida is easier to shovel than snow.
  12. So sorry to hear about your dog, we are rabid dog fans at our house(pun intended). Thanks for loving you canine friend and giving it a life full of adventure.
  13. So, what is your axle gear ratio atv_idiot? My 780 came to me with 3.42, seems like a good balance, and keeps the revs right around the sweet spot when doing 60-65 mph.
  14. What range gear ratio is best?
  15. Still in Lakeland, at work, but next Thursday I will be heading to Jeepin' with Judd. For you Jeepers, come join us at this event, it is a fundraiser for the Florida Sheriff's Youth Ranch organization. There will be great weather, vendors, obstacle courses and trail rides. This is the forth year and the attendance will again grow I am sure. http://jeepinwithjudd.com https://www.facebook.com/jeepinwithjudd/

    Bobtail mileage

Jim, my Dodge 1 ton was getting 12-14 towing, 18-22 normal driving. Our Volvo seems to be doing 9-10 towing so far, but the slight decrease in mileage is more then paid for with the confidence I have in towing with the 780. Thank you again for sharing the HDT lifestyle with my wife and I, we will for ever be grateful. Michael and Licia
  20. Heading for TN and KY tomorrow afternoon with my adult son for some R&R and off-roading. We will be exploring the Daniel Boone Backcountry Byway near Slade Kentucky. We will also visit Wooly's off-road park near Lynnville Tennessee, and Windrock ORV near Oliver Springs TN. Then home to Florida in-time for Turkey Dinner:)
  21. I live in Lakeland, other side of Polk County. The weather here is fantastic again. 55 degrees this morning with a high of 81 expected today. I hope you have a safe trip. Michael and Licia
  22. We hit Byrd's in western Arkansas last November, great off-roading trails. https://byrdsadventurecenter.com/4x4/ They have some huge sights along a grass runway that would fit the HDT's. There is a place nearby called the Oark General store that has been in continuous operation for 100+ years nearby. The Burgers are fantastic. http://www.oarkgeneralstore.com/our-story.html We also ran into Alie and Jim at the Cloud Nine Campground on that trip and got infected with the HDT. We sure appreciated their willingness to share and explain the HDT option to us. Really nice folks.
  23. Ok did not have to wake the sleeping teen. Figured out the crop function worked well enough. 2006 Volvo VNL 780 D12 with Ultrashift. Work station, 3k pure sine wave invertor, 3100k generator/invertor. 120v A/C. Fridge, Microwave, coffee pot and 12v / A/C TV...
  24. Hello everyone, My wife Licia and I, have purchased a 2006 Volvo VNL 780, registered it in Florida as a Motorhome and begun the process of adding a flat deck to the rear to carry my Jeep. In Florida we are limited to bumper pull, so we have purchased a new to us 28 foot Coachman FREEDOM Express 280 RLS pull behind. (emphasis on the Freedom:) We look forward to this adventure and meeting others who have gone on before us. I have had the very special privilege of talking to Mr. Henry, and e-mailing Miss Davena, if these folks are any indication on how the rest of the group treats new folks, I would say my wife and I have found a very special club. Thank you, Michael & Licia (pronounced Lish-Ahh) Parr We will post up a photo or two once I get my IT team, I mean my Teenage son to shrink the pictures to the appropriate KB size.
