  1. If you are going to work in TN and spend most of your time there, you will likely be considered legal residents of TN, independent of any other mailing address. So you may want to research what the TN state laws are about who they consider residents. You may have to register you RV and other vehicles there, vote and be up for jury duty there. After retirement, you may want to review your domicile situation. Art
  2. The way I understand this is that the ideal tire contact patch occurs when the tire pressure matches the load on the tire, as per the manufacturer's weight chart. Tire wear and traction are optimal when at this point. Under inflation is always worse than over inflation and one should err to the higher pressure side. RV manufactures may install tires rated above the rating of an axle. Running at sidewall pressure in these cases is definitely higher than needed, but still better than under inflation. Running through a CAT scale to get at least axle weights is pretty easy. If tire position weights are not known, the best temporary practice is to run the tire at the max cold pressure listed on the tire sidewall. Never inflate tires above their listed sidewall pressure (cold). Note, that without weighing, tires/axles can be overloaded without knowing it. Art
  3. Do you have axle weights for the front and rear of the truck and the trailer with everything hooked up and loaded for travel? That should be your starting point. Art
  4. After several years of backpacking and tent camping, in 1980 we bought a VW Westfalia camper. in the mid '90s we rented an 18' tow trailer, and based on that experience we bought a used 24' trailer. In 2001 with retirement on our minds, we ordered a new Lazy Daze class C motorhome which we took delivery of in February of 2002. We traveled in the Lazy Daze for 13 years and 140,000 miles, usually towing a Jeep Wrangler. In 2015 we sold our house and went full time. We ordered our current Tiffin Allegro Bus and took delivery of that in September 2015.
  5. This has been an ongoing process for us since we started fulltiming. We are often in a travel mode where we don't know where we will be very far into the future. Our fallback mode is to have everything sent to our Escapees mailing address in Livingston, TX. They will accept most things from USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc. and notify us of new mail and packages. We will usually have them forward stuff via USPS Priority Mail to General Delivery in a town we will be staying near. We try to avoid using post offices in big cities and very small towns. Since Priority Mail is usually 2-3 days, we can make this work with our travel plans. The biggest downside, is the extra shipping cost and time delay, especially since companies like Amazon now tend to use fixed box sizes and often ship in larger boxes than needed. Escapees will not open packages to repack for shipping (understandably), so must pack these boxes in even larger boxes or re-ship the original box. Be sure you know the General Delivery rules in a particular area. In many cities, only one post office handles general delivery. When we have a reservation at a regular campground or if we will be staying a while, we will check with them if they will accept packages from various carriers and most will. We will then have things shipped directly to us in care of that campground. Art
