We're hunkered down at Sumter Oaks in Florida, where we've been wintering the last few years. Our normal routine would have us on the road cruising around the country pretty soon, but we've extended our stay here for a while. The worst thing that has occurred per my wife, is the cancellation of the weekly park dinner. That was the night she didn't have to cook, and now that opportunity is gone. "C'est la vie" I said, to which she replied "Lahvee". Hopefully this pandemic thing will resolve itself before it gets too hot down here, and we can travel to cooler climates for the summer.

I'm here at the Bushnell park now. The smartweigh station is not closed. You do, however, have to make an appointment with the weighmaster. He is not here all the time, so he'll have to come in to weigh your rig. I don't have his number (and may not be the same guy as was here last year), but they do at the office. You can call the office at 352-793-1333.

I checked with the office today. They have a very limited number of short 30 amp sites for next season available.

I'm here in Sumter Oaks now. And you may already be too late to book next January if you are staying for more than a few days. Best to give them a call now, as the winter months fill up quickly.

Last fall, we stayed at the Bear Creek Lake park campground, which was pretty nice. It's like being in the wilderness of the high desert, but actually right next to civilization, and close to shopping, dining, and attractions.

I don't know if this will help or not since I have different hardware, but on my Winegard Pathway X2 satellite dish, it has two outputs. (It is a single satellite at a time dish). If I hook up cables to both outputs, and connect one receiver to cable A and another receiver to cable B, and go through the setup for 2 receivers, it only looks at 72.7. If I do the setup for only 1 receiver, it will pull in all 3 satellites. Perhaps there is something in your setup that is similar that is causing your receivers to ignore the other 2 satellites.

I've found the important part of the brine solution is the roughly equal parts of salt and sugar (you can even use table sugar and make it work). Then, throw in any and all spices to your liking. But the beer should be at least doubled, because that gives you plenty to drink while the meat is soaking.

We also are looking for a primary care physician in Bushnell. There is a new clinic under construction that looks like it is about ready to open, Premier Medical Associates. They have other clinics in cities around the area, from Ocala to Orlando. I don't have any info on the specific doctors that will be at the clinic, though. We plan on visiting them when they open up.

We changed our domicile to FL on the first of the year a few years ago, and never ran into any issues. However, we were coming from GA, which isn't a very aggressive state for going after taxpayers who leave.

We stayed there for 3 weeks in July. Turkey creek runs along the back side of the property, and flows into the Taneycomo river about 2 blocks downstream. When heavy rains occur, it's not just the water flowing into the creek and river that causes the flooding. There is also Taneycomo Lake upstream of the park that rises, and the dam operator releases water downstream. When we were there, there was only 1 site between us and Turkey Creek. 2 days before we got there, our site and the ones on either side of us were evacuated because the creek flooded them all. We were lucky that it dried up before we pulled in.

I have my mail service with this company, MyRVMail. But, this is NOT Good Sam's mailing service, although the mailing service does give a discount to Good Sam members. I get a discount, too, but not through Good Sam. MyRVMail has the same discount program with Passport America. My drivers license and voting registration is in Crestview. My address is 5753 Hwy 85 N, with a box number on the end of it. Same as hundreds of other folks. That's where my mail is sent, and is the address on my license. However, for my voter registration, my address is listed as the county clerk's office address.

My renewal date and first auto payment was a couple of days ago. No problems here.

For you guys with the 7730's that are having issues, it could be that the battery is going bad. I was having some problems with mine, and when I took the battery out, I could see it was slightly bulged out. I got a new battery, and the problems went away. The Verizon stores didn't have the batteries, but I found them at Walmart.com.

"The Billing Address counts as t sets the sales tax for that address." I've found it's the service address that determines the sales tax. We are full timers, and over the past few months have been in several states. I called DISH to ask about the various sales taxes being charged, when there should be none as our billing address is Florida where no sales tax is charged. The account rep didn't know, and put me on hold while he checked with someone. He came back on the phone and told me it is the service address that determines the tax rate. During the times that I was charged a sales tax, my service addresses were mostly in the state where the tax was assessed for most or all of the billing period.

No, you don't have to have an Apple phone. I use my android phone (Samsung) to change locals on the MyDish app. We are full timers, but we apparently have the pay as you go service, since we are able to use the app to change locals.

We've always been in the river section with sites 40 - 76. The last time we were there, there was a movie crew that was staying in the section where you were. We never found out what movie they were filming, but they had a lot of movie equipment and cameras, and were filming back in the tent section in the forested area that would be to the west of where you were.

We've also stayed there several times with no electric problems. Were you in the north or the south section? We've always stayed in the north section.

I suppose you could do a chat or phone call with a rep and give them an address in the local area you want to receive. We are Lake Hartwell on the GA/SC border, on the SC side. When we got here, we were still getting the Atlanta channels, so we were still within the spotbeam range for those. But, we wanted to be able to get local weather forecasts, so we did the location change to get the local SC stations.
