  1. Part of the road is gravel. Gets a few wash board places as season goes by. I had a35' 5th wheel with Ram dually, no problems. Road was gravel in campground but individual campsites were dirt/grass. I believe they were going to gravel sites but don't know if they did or not. Call ranger station in West Yellowstone and they can up date you . I really enjoyed the area.
  2. I was camp host last year. There was no fee involved. There is a consession campground on the same road with water and electric. Could be the one you saw. Checked website for Spring Creek Campground, West Yellowstone, Mt ,. Did not show fee involved. There is a commercial campground in Montana called Spring Creek. Might be the one you saw. The one I am referring to is 18 from west gate. Hope this helps.
  3. Spring creek on Lake Hebgen is good location. Vault toilets no water or power. 1st few spots after the camp host space are the best. 14 day limit . Watch for the Bears. Lol
  4. I would suggest reading handy bob.com. Very good informative read. Afterwards you may not be an expert but will have a very good understanding of solar systems. Jack myer has some very good info also. jim
  5. I use the propane pro com heater too. Very efficient use of propane. Very useful when boondocking.
  6. Your wake up voltage is good. Battery was pretty much at rest and showing 12.7 v could not ask for much better than that. If you run the generator the same time your solar is providing power whichever one has the higher voltage will be the one providing amperage. So both with the sun shine is wasting fuel. I still would suggest buying Trimetic TM 2030 battery monitor. Using it is the only way to know for sure the condition of your batteries. Has lots more information available too. Jim
  7. Watching the lights does not tell you anything about battery SOC. (State of charge). i would highly recommend installing a battery monitor such as the one from Bogart or I ve heard people recommend the link meter. This will measure total amps "in" and total amps "out". I to would suggest turning the inverter off until needed, it has a idle current draw. is your solar charge controller programmable, if so what volatage are the batteries being charged. Each battery manufacture has different requirement for charge voltage. Sounds to me that it might be possible that the batteries are not getting 100% charged. In addition the inverter draw when not in use does not help. Hope this helps, I am no expert but have researched on line . Jim
  8. Anyone ever boondock at the upper or lower Teton view campsites near Jackson Wy? Any opinions would be appreciated thanks
  9. I changed some time ago. Direct became to difficult to deal with. Much happier with Dish . I don't think you will regret the change, much easier to set up and address changes are painless. Find someone with Dish service and have them set you up for reveral ,. You both get $ off your bill for 10 mo and the rates for same service is much cheaper. I save about $40 + a month. If allowed I will give you my account number for the reveral. jim
  10. What position is the gain control in? If you have it set at zero it may not show any voltage. Good luck
