  1. thanks for your responses. my rant is over and i'm moving on
  2. thanks for the insightful replies. i guess i am just venting myfrustrations.
  3. i will not contact the office. i just think it's a self-centered person who would not let others know so the other folks could decide on their own if they want to possibly expose themselves. it's not just the virus, but any kind of communicable diseases.
  4. i agree everyone has a choice. as far as where we got the virus- who knows. we've spent the last 3 months in the woods. not trying to create a frankenstein mob scene. but it does tick me off that we were caught unaware. it is our home and it's our call to decide what happens inside it.
  5. i'm in a bit of a quandary. recently ran into another escapee we've known for several years. after 4-5 days of visiting in our motorhome, it was disclosed that this person never got vaccinated for the virus. within days, we became ill and tested positive. we were pretty upset as we've been very careful. this person has a lot in one of the escapee parks that this person is travelling to. my questions- should this person notify the office that they are not vaccinated?, and should i feel any responsibility to pass this info along or am i just a paranoid old fart?
  6. i think if we switch states we will stick with the escapees mail service. 5 and a half years and we are happy with it.
  7. morning- we've been using texas as our home state for the last 5 years. thinking about switching to south dakota. can anyone tell me what the registration and license fees are for a 2008 monaco 26000 pound motorhome? thanks
  8. thanks- i saw the colo dot reports
  9. monarch pass is no picnic either. thanks for the info. looks like we'll take the long way around
  10. looking for info on the grade percentages and lengths of the grades to cross from buena vista to taylor reservoir. we have a 33 foot gas rv and towing a jeep. don't want to beat up the rv by crossing over here if it's a backbreaker. thanks
  11. colorado precision rv- jake diagnosed our electrical problem. we couldn't hang around for the part to be ordered, so once we got settled in for the winter, i ordered the part and with jake's help over the phone, i installed it. great customer service. he could have blown me off because i was 1000 miles and 2 months away since he did the original diagnosis.
  12. nope- no more washers for the new ones. looks like prest-o-fit is the only choice for our steps
  13. yes- they went in the washer. frayed the heck out them. first time washing them. last set - probably the originals hit the washer many times without getting beaten up
  14. anyone know of another source for interior step covers besides prest-o fit? my new ones shredded after one washing
  15. i think buying and shipping a window would far exceed $30.00. thanks tho
  16. maybe, but i'm still looking for a cheaper solution. anyone else have a source?
  17. well i broke one of my window latches today. if i knew they were pretty much extinct, i would have been more careful. anyone know where i can buy replacements without spending $30.00 on an aluminum one?--thanks
  18. yep- we figured on a week max time. we're leaning towards mustang island for the electric. at least I can run a/c or heat pump when needed to draw out internal moisture. thanks for the info folks. keep it coming
  19. good info. as far as why i'm worried about the potential electrical system problems, the fog and mists create humidity and moisture. I'm concerned about all chassis and interior contact points. is there any way to protect these other than staying several miles inland?
  20. we were thinking of mustang island state park or padre island national seashore. i'm a bit concerned about corrosion to the electrical systems. living in a Monaco mh, and I don't want to create problems.
  21. we would like to camp on the gulf coast for a while. should we be concerned with the salt air or fog?
