Am i missing something, or did you forget a price?

We are looking for a Toad around UT, or on the way to Mount Rushmore. We dont have a huge budget, max would be around 7-9K.

Thank you. Had surgery on my wrist so progress will be slow for the next 4-6 weeks.

Re the "linear actuator" for the queen bed: does that mean that  area is "dual purpose"? If so then pretty much every day you'll have to switch between dining and sleeping use which can be a pain.

 

 

I am leaning towards the 7500W right now. Yes the rear is going to be dual purpose. It will not be too much of a pain, you just drop the bed down and you are in night mode, raise it up and you are in dinning mode. We are training to do this on a budget so we can start doing conversions for other's that are not 80K and more in the 40-60k price range depending on price of the vehicle.

dennisrvr- I have a boot installed - Truck Cab Pass Through Kit (accordionboot.com) - I used this company, just measured and then they shipped it. 

The Cab is air ride, along with all 5 seats in the cab. So far i have not have any issues in testing, still do not have many miles on it yet. I would say there is about 3" of free space for movement.

It could go either way, but since it is on a full class 8 chassis and not a medium duty chassis, I think it is still defined as a toterhome. Not sure though. 

Hi all, 

Let me introduce you to my project. I am currently converting a Kenworth T2000 from an HDT RV to a full blown RV. I have added a 16' box and frame extension done by a professional company in Los Angeles. Here are some specs i am working towards. 

Goals -

5 Air Seats in Front Mounted - I removed all the beds and cabinets for this to occur

Front area will have two bunk beds for my boys to sleep once we are parked

Full bath with a full-size shower and larger RV toilet

Full kitchen with a 17” range and cabinets to surround.

Working 120v plugs and 12v plugs throughout for computers etc.

The rear of the box will have a queen bed on a linear actuator and dinette underneath for eating etc.

Specs on the RV:

Water: 180G – Instant Furrion hot water heater

Black: 80G

Grey: 120G

Genset: Either 7500W Onan Diesel OR 4000W Onan Gas

Solar: 2.2KW solar system – 24V 310Ah battery capacity (still finalizing)

Heat/Cool: Minisplit 12k Unit

Fuel: 200G Diesel saddle tanks

Current Status-

All the walls have been framed with metal studs, electrical has been roughed in, plumbing is almost laid out, bathroom has been framed, cabinets are built and awaiting install, aluminum stairs are built waiting to be installed, RV door is installed, dinette has been received finally (6Months) wait, all 5 new seats are mounted, rear rails for queen bed are mounted, front is laid out for the boys, and entire RV is dried in.

As you guys look at my photos, please feel free to make comments, suggestions, questions and I have pretty thick skin, so do not be afraid to say that was “silly” etc.

If you have an air ride cab, for kids I don't think I would put air ride seats in. Regular seats should work just fine. My wife doesn't put any air in her seat unless she is trying to block the sun. She is short and does not like her legs just hanging there. I do not think kids would weigh enough to get a better ride.

That is a very good thought, didn't even think of the weight. However when they get older they will want it nice and plush. Wonder if I should weight to spend the money later then. 

We have not removed the heat/ac box yet. I am waiting see if it will mess with the layout before i do. All the cabinets fridge and two bunks have been removed. 

I was going to use this for the car seats. Amazon.com: Carrfan Car Child Safety Seat Mount Bracket, Universal Steel Latch for ISOFIX Belt Connector Restraint Anchor Mounting Kit: Automotive in lieu of the L-Track. 

Entire box and cab will be getting spray foam. Floors will be getting an epoxy seal coating to seal all the cracks etc. 

I will start a build thread here shortly. Still trying to gather parts. 

I am looking at adding these, with a L Track mounted to the floor to install the car seats since they do not have the hook for the clip from the car seat.

Hi All, 

I have a Kenworth T2000 that we are converted to a Toterhome. We will have a full living quarters in the box behind the cab.

We removed the interior of the Cab and now only have two seats up front. I would like to add two seats with air ride so i can install the booster for one and a car seat for the other. 

Does anyone have any recommendations? Has anyone done this?

Found it at a local dist. "Six States Dist." Appreciate the help. 

Next question, anyone recommend a HDT mechanic or shop in the Salt Lake City, Utah area?

I believe it goes to the brakes. Wow guys thank you for all the help. Curios to how you find these parts so I don't bug you guys. 

Also, What does this do. Is this an ABS valve or something similar?

It pretty much straight away starts starts to leak at the valve and will not start building.

Good Morning Everyone, 

I have a Kenworth T2000 that will not currently build air. I know that the compressor  is working but there is a leak on a valve towards the middle of the frame just before the axles. I cannot read the info on the valve. Does anyone know what this is? In addition, does anyone have a parts manual or service manual for this beast, just to help me identify parts so I can order new ones?

I have attached some updated photos of the build progress it is not longer ugly red it is now monster lined grey with a 14' box that will soon be converted into more of a living quarters.
