  1. Is your sleeper filter the old little flat blue one?
  2. Here ya go, try this. Cabin air filter 8089705 https://www.google.com/url?esrc=s&q=&rct=j&sa=U&url=https://www.amazon.com/Volvo-Truck-Fresh-Filter-8089705/dp/B0029TM6NO&ved=2ahUKEwiStNui45iAAxVcmWoFHZmwAYgQFnoECAkQAg&usg=AOvVaw1f9rE1wG1uspRzeIpFN0OF Jay
  3. It's helpful to follow the team leader over to the control panel and watch him actually push the button to turn off the acid. If they don't do it, you kinda have to be proactive and insist before they get it on your truck. Jay
  4. Yes, of course. With that kind of light use and build-up, a little soap and water works magic. And $20??!? Wow! I'm jealous! Of course, they have a lot more work to do on mine, so it's only fair. Jay
  5. I've been using Blue Beacon for my truck and trailer for decades. If your Class B was relatively clean, they wouldn't need more than pressurized water. However, when you run lots of miles in a variety of environments, it gets really dirty. If they're not sure, they'll ask if it's okay to use a brush, but more often they'll just go ahead with the brushes. I have new paint and I'm not crazy about the brushes, but I do like for my truck to be clean - without the brightener. Jay
  6. Just tell them no brightener. They may want to argue with you because it means less elbow grease for them, but it's hard on your polished aluminum, etc. Watch to make sure they got the button on the controller. Jay
  7. Can you explain that please? I don't understand.. Jay
  8. Caig DeoxIT is some seriously good stuff. The contact enhancer can do a good job of reviving intermittent contacts, after a proper cleaning. Of course, nothing will fix a poor mechanical connection, other than just fixing it. Highly recommended. Jay
  9. Essentially, you can create a custom "glass cockpit" with whatever gauges and inputs you want, within the limits of your ecm connection. Jay

    Tool of this week

There are hundreds of them on Amazon, or your local auto parts or farm supply will have them. Prices are from $10 to hundreds of dollars. I just used an old one I already had to polish my gas tank. Here's a representative one from Amazon. Biltek 12 Volt Fuel Oil Transfer Pump Diesel Kerosene Biodiesel 12V DC 10.5 gpm Pumps https://a.co/d/7QpHAQs Jay P.S. Also, Harbor Freight has them, but you don't want one of the high volume ones for this project. Carter is probably the classic brand for old hot rodders.. 11. Actually, I've used a browser on my phone for many years that is permanently set to desktop mode, probably going back to my first Note 4. No need to switch anything or connect anything. It's just always there. That's my happy place. Jay
  12. That was exactly my point. I use my phone for almost everything, but if I need it, I pull out a laptop. I would've enjoyed playing with those bits and pieces when I was much younger, but now I just want to get things done quickly. Plus, I have an obsession with efficiency and minimalism. But of course, to each his own. Jay
  13. I have an add-on keyboard for my tablet, but rarely use it. If I were to add peripherals to my phone, I may as well dig out a laptop. Space is at a premium and so is time. Often I can complete a task on my phone in less time than it would take to pull out and boot up a computer. It helps that I've sideload an ancient version of Swype that works fluidly for me and I'm probably faster on it than on a keyboard. If I'm home and need something more involved, I'll go to my office and use my desktop, but I'm rarely home this time of year. Whatever works for each user. Jay
  14. It's just calculating the timing differences between the GPS satellites to determine your position. No cell connection needed. It's essentially a passive calculation. Jay
  15. I'm sure that works on a desktop computer. I rarely use a desktop/notebook computer as I'm generally always on the go and use my phone for virtually everything. These tips may help others, but thanks. Jay
  16. Jack was one of the early RV modifiers to recognize that was an issue that needed to be corrected. I'm 100% he's getting it right. Jay
  17. Many navigation devices are freestanding and have all the data needed internally to decode the satellite signals for navigation. No internet connection needed. If you navigate with your phone, it uses its internal cell signal connection for data. Usually the phone isn't used as a hot spot to share the data signal inside the vehicle, so the dashcam wouldn't have an internet connection. Many newer vehicles do have an internal hot spot option available though, if one cares to subscribe to that. Jay
  18. Try this place. It used to be Genuinedealz, but was recently sold. They still have the same basic inventory. Jay
  19. Remember to only include the part of https through jpeg. Jay
  20. Cory, use the "Other Media" button to add the url for the picture you're posting. We can help if needed. Jay
  21. My exact response.. Maybe there's a sensor to detect that?? Jay
  22. Hey, what was the contact information for your shop that you like there in Vegas? Thanks, Jay

Ask for Steve and use my name, remind him I was the orange 780 and the teacher that interned with him last summer.

    Retro band

They're $3500 to $4500, depending on the application. You can buy a lot of preventative new steer tires for that money. Jay

    Retro band

I like the idea and would've like to have those on my truck, but the price is prohibitive. I'll just replace the tires at the five year point. Jay
