  1. Arrived at Mesa Campground 4 miles west of Gunnison, CO. Will be workamping here through the summer. 10.2mpg from Dallas,TX to here - but hey, it's uphill all the way!
  2. Bob, if you're headed north out of Albuquerque, there's a KOA and another park just west of the Rio Grande river in Bernalillo. I've stayed at both, and they are big rig friendly. The Range Cafe in Bernalillo is worth going out of the way for!
  3. Spent Saturday night boondocking at a roadside picnic area north of Post, TX. Now at Sammie's RV Park in La Veta, CO for a week. Nice little park that's big rig friendly. Mule deer come by the site and visit every evening right before sunset.
  4. Departed Loyd Park in Grand Prairie, TX yesterday. Spent the night in Post, TX last night en route to Gunnison, CO for the summer.
  5. Well, I've tried 3 different times to add the campground and I get PHP errors
  6. Yes, I'd be glad to - is it the "Day's End" forum, or a different site?
  7. Arrived at Texarkana RV Park today for 4 nights. This is a brand new park, not on any internet searches yet. Very nice sites, very nice hosts, and tile bathrooms and showers nice as any hotel I've ever seen. Address is 5000 State Hiway 59 South. Phone is (903). 306-1364.
  8. Spent a night in Alma, AR last night to meet friends at Cracker Barrel right next door. That's the ONLY reason to stay at Crabtree RV park - not recommended. Boondocking in Mena, AR tonight.
  9. Speaking of fixing trucks, anybody have a good suggestion where to take mine near Kansas City? Need to get my A/C slow leak fixed.
  10. Arrived at Smith's Fork Park in Smithville, MO yesterday. Took 160 East from Mesa Verde National Park through Durango and Wolf Creek Pass and crossed I-25 at Walsenburg. Hiway 10 from Walsenburg to La Junta is 70 miles with NO curves. Downhill all the way, though. At one point I timed it and coasted 19 miles without touching the gas or brakes - gotta find some way to have fun on one of the most boring roads in the country! Took Hwy 50 to Dodge City, then 56 through Great Bend to I-70. Through Kansas, I swear I had a 40mph tailwind all the way. Topped off my tanks in CO and topped them off again in MO to check my mileage and the old Volvo got 10.9mpg on the 908 mile trip. I wouldn't have thought that was possible. I'll be the weekend Camp Host here at Smith's Fork Park until October.
  11. I'm at A&A Mesa Verde RV Park right across the highway from Mesa Verde National Park in southwest Colorado. I signed up to workamp here for the summer, but the Verizon coverage just isn't fast enough to support my company software (still working full time). Headed to a new workamping gig in MO that promises to be a much better arrangement. This park has new owners as of a week ago. If you're in the area, this is an HDT-friendly park. No shade, but not much in this area anywhere. Very convenient to the National Park.
  12. I will be at Loyd Park on Joe Pool Lake in Grand Prairie, TX for a few months. Picked up my new to me Smart Car a few days ago and saw several HDT rigs at Destiny Dallas RV Resort in Corinth, TX.
  13. The DW and I are at Jellystone RV Park in Canyon Lake, TX to visit with family in the area. Temps in the low 80's the past couple of days, but looks like the latest Arctic blast is going to take us below freezing, even in the Texas Hill Country.
