  1. We also setup or address service six months early. We did not use Escapees but another service. The six months allowed us to make sure all the mail we needed the address changed on got changed and was forwarded properly. When we stopped in S.D. For our drivers license we needed two pieces of mail with or S.D. address on it, we had that due to setting up our mail forwarding early. Even though we set it up early I still forgot one or two pieces that needed to be changed during that initial six months. My suggestion is set it up early. Once you can move to the state then you can get drivers license, titles and plates, wills, and all the other minutia taken care of at that time.
  2. We use the dyson V6. Have used it for over 4 years only complaint I have is if it is on sheet vinyl flooring you can not turn it on max. Not really a complaint just has way too much suction.
  3. Have used composite decking boards under our level up system for years. Heavy duty enough to handle the weight no warping or splitting. Cost zero dollars. Visit house construction sites and the give away scrap so they don't have to haul away.
  4. Mandolin57 hope you get a it sold quickly and at a good price. Head up and keep your fingers crossed. Took awhile for ours to sell and we got a little less then we wanted but when it was all done it was a great relief. Best of luck to you
  5. Ramblin Reck glad to hear you are celebrating one month. Glad for you. Every day that it is nice here I am so wanting to take the skirting off the RV and hit the road but have seen 21/2 foot of snow hit in March and even April so guess we will be staying put until May.. Roger Wilson. Hang in there. I'm sure once you get on the road you will realize it is all worth it
  6. Mainuh thanks glad things are working out for you hope the house sells fast for you. Things are looking like they are warming up here but still not taking the skirting off. Have seen too many times that we have recieved two feet of snow in April or May. Best of luck to every one. Nice coach Mainuh
  7. Mandolin57 glad to hear you are getting close. Have been planning for this for three years. Seemed like it took a lot longer. Imagine it feels that way to you. Hang in there. Hope your house sells quickly. In a few months will be hitting the road. Might see you out there. Good luck
  8. Today was last day of work. Now officially retired. Now waiting until May so can pull skirting off fifth wheel and begin traveling where we want not where work wanted.
  9. Well sold house paid off rv. Just got new one ton dually. Nice felling to pay cash for new truck and not having to go into debt. Still looking to sell land. Hope it sells before I retire and we hit the road. Retirement planed for June 24 2016. Can't wait.
  10. Just sold house yesterday. Ordered new one ton dually. Now only obstical is retirement age. Only 767 days.
  11. Well bought a new 5th wheel today plus paid for a lot in town. Will be living in the 5th wheel for the next three years until here until my retirement. Then will be hitting the road
  12. Been reading everything I can find on the Internet, sometimes wife says I spend too much time. Will not only have a checklist for setting up and getting rv ready to travel but one to go with me when I buy and one for regular maintinece. Most of it have gotten off this forum. Thanks for the welcome. Maybe we will run across each other in a park somewhere
  13. Looking forward to retiring in 1313.6 days and joining the full-time lifestyle. Won't actually be retirement age yet but with accrued vacation time should hold us over until I reach that old age mark. Wishing it was down to 10 days instead. Dw and I have all ready started on downsizing furniture and other possessions. Have all ready decided on the keystone fuzion 375 toyhauler and a dodge dually but waiting until 2016 to purchase both. Feel that new should give us less headaches in the long run. Feel that if we get things like the auto level now won't be wishing we had it later on.Plan to spend summers north and winters south. Only traveling will be basically Between destinations. Hardest part for me is convincing myself that we can do the full-time lifestyle on a fixed income. Having worked for so many years and not having to worry about expenses then switching to the mindset of a limited income is going to be tough. Would not want to start out retired then have to go back to work. That would be more retarded then retired Anyway glad to see a few others will be joining us when we retire. Good luck to all
