  1. I have a 40' 5th wheel and used to pull it with a Ford F-350 DRW and I had air bags. I think it helped the ride a little, the big thing was that it made the truck sit level. My truck was a 2004, the newer trucks have higher towing ratings and air bags might not be needed, just hook it up and see how it does.
  2. Nice looking seats, where did you get then?
  3. I have one on my dog's collar and it works great. The first time I used it the snap that secures it in the holder opened up and it fell off in my front yard. There was about 3 feet of snow, and she was all over the yard, I thought I was never going to find it, but the phone brought me right over it, I slowly started digging down in the snow and found it,

    Seats

I have the Legacy Silver seats with heat. I like them, the local Volvo and Peterbuilt dealer had them on the show room floor so I could sit in them (no air connected). I was at the Volvo dealer in Duluth on Thursday, and they had 3 different brands of seats on display if you get up this way.
  5. I replaced my leveling valve today. I measured the height of the rear bumper to the ground with the old valve and it measured 16 1/4 inches, after installing the new valve it measured 15 1/2 inches. there is no adjustment in the rod that goes from the valve to the frame. Is 3/4 of an inch going to cause problems or should I make a new rod. Thanks
  6. I like the idea of the Mini split and the cost looks to be the same or less the a roof top unit. Thanks for the input
  7. Sounds good, is the mini split you have designed for RV use or is just a residential unit and where did you buy it? Does the compressor unit go into a basement compartment? If it goes in a basement compartment, do you have to leave a compartment door open for air circulation? Thank You
  8. Hi I am looking for recommendations for a front bedroom ac unit. Being it will be in the bedroom I would like one that is as quiet as possible. 5er is a 2011 Cedar Creek 36RE Thanks for any info
  9. Thanks for all the suggestions and info, Looking into both Crossfires and valve extensions.
  10. With the Crossfires I would guess that if you blow one tire the other tire will go flat too.
  11. Hi all I am going to buy the TST 507 and looking at my dual wheel valve stems I am not sure what to do, it looks like I will have to bend the inner valve stems because they don't line up with the holes in the outer rim very well to get the flow thru senders to fit. Can they be bent a little or can they be turned a little by loosening the nut where the valve stem goes into the rim. On the outer rim the valve stem bends back into the hole in the rim so I am thinking I would have to use a cap style sender, but I am not sure how hard it will be to get it threaded on. Just wondering what everyone else has done. Thanks
  12. Your lines them self's leak or they leak at the fittings? I have a 2000 Volvo 610 that had lots of air leaks, I started by replacing the O-rings in the fittings. I think I ordered bags of O-rings from Amazon. the hardest part in getting the old O-rings out. New O-rings got rid of a lot of my leaks. I think a would be a big job to change out the lines,
  13. My truck had Michelin 275/80R22.5 on the steers when I bought it, but they were 15yr old. It rode so nice so I went with new Michelins. They were about $650 a tire out the door, a little expensive but I figure I probably won't ever have to replace them again.
  14. Thanks I will check Class8truckparts.com, 4 States truck say they have them in stock but I have heard that song before. I am not worried about it I will find them somewhere. I will definitely carry a old one on the truck for a spare.
  15. I took my cab air bags and rear axle bags out the other day. Wasn't a bad job at all, the mistake I made was not having the new bags in hand before I started. Went to my local Volvo dealer thinking these would be a stock item, guess I was wrong they said they don't have any in there system and don't know when they might get them in. I have been looking online but not sure what is a good bag or not so good bag. At least I am not going anywhere for awhile so I have time to look.
  16. I have all the registration, license, insurance information plus went on my state DOT site and made copy's of all the pages that covered license that is required to drive a recreational vehicle and what equipment is required to be licensed as an recreational vehicle. High lighted the sections that applied so they are easy to find. Knock on wood I have never been stopped, hope I am prepared if it happens.
  17. I don't know of a way to do it without buying either a Scan Gauge D or a scanner from bluefire-llc.com. I looked at both and went with the Scan Gauge D. My Ford had a Scan Gauge so I was familiar with how it works. I can clear inactive engine codes(Detroit 60 Series) but I haven't figured how to clear other inactive codes for other systems( trans, brakes) maybe it wont do it, Hopefully someone else knows if its possible

    All In

Nice to see others came to the same conclusion, makes me feel better about letting it go and with the current truck market it sold in two days and I got a good price.

    All In

When all in today, I started using my 2000 Volvo 610 about two years ago and I kept my 2004 Ford F-350 DWR just incase the Volvo didn't work out. This week I looked at the miles that I have put on the Ford since I started driving the Volvo and it was about 2000 miles in 2 years so today I sold it, cant see it sit and deteriorate. I bought the Ford new and really enjoyed it. Sad to see it go but the Volvo is so much better(and so much more fun) When someone asks why I need a HDT there are lots of reasons, Braking, power, visibility, but I just tell them it is just plain fun
  20. That was me heading to Eau Claire for a couple of days, Where you in your HDT, I am always looking for others but never seam to see many up in this neck of the woods.
