  6. Hey Susan! We arrive around May 28th and leave June 12th. If I still have your email address, I'll send you my cell phone number. Let's try to get together at least for dinner? That would be way cool! Janet, I didn't realize you were on your way to Alaska! That's way cool! I'll take a look at your journal! Yeehaw! You're full timing now!
  7. It's been a while since I've visited. I have been traveling around Texas (hotels and car) for speaking engagements. It has been a lot of fun but I realize I miss my home and cats, oh and Rick too! hahah We get on the road to Yellowstone in May - can't wait! We will be there for 2 weeks and a couple of days. Hope all is well with everyone and looking forward to see you ladies in October!
  8. Heidi! So sorry to hear about Roberrt's parents and will be praying for comfort and a quick recovery. I also pray that the medical and vehicle insurance companies don't provide any challenges. You don't need that headache on top of all the other stuff. Let us know if we can assist in any way. HUGS, Alicia
  9. Hello, ladies! I wanted to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving and that you are blessed where ever you are! My folks will be driving in form Little Rock to Dallas area to join Rick's folks and us for a THREE TURKEY meal at our home! We will have all the fixin's including pumpkin and pecan pie. It will be cold outside when the boys fry those turkeys but they can gather around the pot to stay warm. haha Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
  10. Susan, I am from Arkansas, in fact I'm in North Little Rock until monday saying hey to the folks. I miss the nature here, it is so beautiful. I'm glad youa re enjoying my home state. Janet, good luck on the house! Ruth, thanks for the link-I'll check it out.
  11. Hello all! Sherry, you did aTERRIFFIC job runnign the RDBE meeting. The panel discussion was quite helpful. When you get in this area, I can meet you for an afternoon beverage or something if our schedules work out. You shoudl ahve my contact info on the form. Speaking of contact info on the form, is this posted privately somewhere? Quite a few of us wanted to keep in touch with one another. Davena, you should know that because you let me drive your rig on my first visit, I taught two gals how to drive my rig. They discoevered what i learned from you, that it isn't as hard as it seems. What a confidence builder and I hope to do that for more women at our next meeting! Sharon, loved your cat mobile. Greatness! Good luck selling the home and land! Susan, what's this about cocnut oil for popcorn? Will that make it taste like move theater popcorn???
  12. Well, there were times we were technically bear bait!! It was an adrenaline rush for sure. Good thing was the big boar, Bruno, had all eyes on the golden female, Blondie. He was oblivious to us, especially after her stole Blondie's meal right out from under her!!
  13. HEIDI!! AMAZING RIG!! So happy for you guys!! We will be attending the rally in October after a stop in Yellowstone and Grand Tetons. And here is the link ot the photos we took this spring on our visit up there: http://www.wyliephotos.com/_pics/2013vacation1/
  14. We have been on the road for three weeks now. Our first stop was in Colorado to visit the Cravens. It was awesome staying at their place, but most importantly, they were such pleasant and generous hosts! Spent 8 days in Yellowstone, then Grand Tetons for a few days. We had a few fantastic experiences with foxes and kits, momma black bears and cubs, and courting grizzly bears. Visited Yosemite and San Dieog for 2 days each and we have one last stop in Vegas before heading back to the sticks and bricks east of Dallas, TX. We have quite a some customization to do to the interior of the Montana, and hope to get that done before the HDT Rally in Kansas this fall!
  15. Donna: what a wonderful place where you live! Sounds like my type of place. Looking forward to meeting you as well. Janet: sounds like you guys had a very enjoyable time together. Glad the weather worked in your favor. I'm glad you get to enjoy some trips and get the tires. I'm going through photos now, only half way through. When I get them uploaded to my site, I'll post a link. Just got through hundreds of a mom and dad fox and two kits. They were soooo fun!
  16. Tennessee is a beautiful state! Where in TN are you? I grew up in Little Rock so we had a little bit of what TN offers. We just left Grand Tetons after spending 2 days there and 8 days in Yellowstone. Wow! Wow! Wow! What an amazing adventure this one was. We ALWAYS have a awesome wildlife encounters, but the might before leaving takes the cake!!! Two Grizzlies circled our car (along with ab out 12 other cars) within feet of us as they grazed, wanderedaround and ate on a carcass. We also spent the night and day with the Cravens. Mike and Suzan (Boomer's parents), really know how to put out the hospitality!!! We ate good for those 24 hours: good burgers and steaks! Oh, and they have the perfect spot for our HDT rigs - right next to their hanger!! Their new home and land is a restful and comfrotable place. Can't thank Mike and Suzan enough for hosting us! We'll be back!
  17. When we both get out of the truck, we put the cats in their carrier. Otherwise, yes, he would be GONE!
  18. I am beside myself today because in ONE WEEK I'll be riding in my big rig with my awesome, amazing husband, two fun cats and great dog heading out to YNP for 8 glorious days!! I am just so stinking excited!! We have a new license plate for the truck: ON2 YNP. Why? because we LOVE Yellowstone! We wanted Off2 YNP, but only 6 characters allowed. Rick wired the Jeep to have four headlights on top of the rack: two will point further down the road than the regular headlights and the other two will be directed to the ditches on either side. Sometimes we get stuck in the park at dusk and the drive back is spooky and precarious. We hope the extra lights will help us prevent collisions with animals. All camera equipment has been insured. All pets have had their vaccines updated. I am backing up my computer files as I type this. Next, I'll clean the sensors on our cameras. And then finally start packing. yes it's early, but Rick has to load the trailer for me because I'll be busy entertaining my high school BFF Thursday thru Saturday as we attend a business seminar in another city which I am also ecstatic about! This is going to be a crazy week but I just cannot wait to get to get YNP!!!
  19. Well I thought I was going to share a photo but it's too big. It's on my Pinterest page and you don't have to be a member to see it. http://pinterest.com/pin/360499145142455344/
  20. Suzan!! Count us coming your way middle of May. I'll text you. And I am totally up for decorating your new home!! Congrats ont he sale of the old home! Way cool you got a new ride. Poor Boomer has to wear doggie muffs. lol Janet! Thanks for putting the recipe book together!! I'll send you a beverage recipe - it's an adult beverage, is that okay? I'm sad that you won't be in Hutch this fall. Rick and I will ahve to try the east coast rally one of these years. Susan, still keeping my fingers crossed for the hosue sale! Four weeks and we will be on the road to Yellowstone!! I can't wait!!!
  21. Love seeing where everyone is going and doing. Sharon: that stinks! Will continue to rpay for a buyer to come along soon! We head out for three weeks on May 19th. Can't wait! Got a hard top for the jeep and new seats. The loud muffler will be replaced so we aren't the loudest people pulling onto a wildlife scene. I've always hated that, so I'm gald that will be corrected. THe only thing we really need to do on the truck is fix a closet door inside. Anyone know how to unstick a door? The latch is not operable. Other than this minor issue we are good to go! We'll be goig to Yellowstone, stop in Yosemite, work some in San Diego and then one night in Vegas. Should be tons of fun!
  22. Hey gals!!! Loving the new message baord skin. Aggie! I bet the kitties look funny but what's hilarious is the screams your neighbors were hearing. LOL Janeet, that was cute! Heidi, so your bedroom will above the pin? And there doesn't appear to be a "living room" but I don't think you had one before, really. Is that something you'll miss? Work is crazy and sometimes I wonder why I put myself through it. But i ahve to beleive in the end this will be one of the biggest accomplishments ever. But I am looking forward to our trip to Yellowstone this spring and then again in the fall. I need to see some bears!!! LOL Stay safe and warm, everyone!
  23. Very nice, Raquel! Thanks for sharing. Well, we pack up tomorrow morning and head back to Dallas, Texas. it was fun while it lasted. Next trip will be Yellowstone in May. Can't wait!
  24. Sounds like a good trip, Raquel. The links do not take me to a photo, but instead to your drop box where we would need your password. Can you upload on Flckr or something similar? Thanks for the laugh, Sharon! Hope everyone is doing well! We are set up at Santee Lakes in California. Very nice grounds and we are in a pull through. We are having a four-day business meeting with our sales team so it made sense to pack up the rig and "family" and travel to San Diego from Dallas. Loving it!
  25. Sounds like things are going well, Heidi! Yes, share some pics. So Davena, has Henry been able to leave yet? Janet, I just saw your etsy profile. Your cards and ribbon are so cool!! Looks like fun. And I have a recipe to send you for a cheese ball spread. I'll send it to your gmail account later tonight. Next week, we are taking our set up to San Diego, CA. We have some business out there so packing up the trailer and the animals for some time away. I'm really looking forward to time on the rode. Rick put the the Volvo in the shop and when we picked it up last Friday, my heart was ready to go on the road. Can't wait to be able to do that whenever we feel like it. Oh and after he registered the HDT as an RV, we got new vanity plates: On2YNP. They only allow 6 characters so we couldn't use off2YNP, which makes more sense. (On2YNP-Onto Yellowstone Natl Park) Hope everyone is safe and doing well.
