  1. That all sounds worse than my constant tinnitus . Hope it all works in your favor .
  2. If you're anything like me about as long as a blink of the eye . LOL
  3. Congrats RV and Lynda . You guys must be doing something right .
  4. Me either . I think the radio was turned maybe twice in the last 13 years , Just to see if it worked .
  5. This whole 'affair' is similar to our daughters' . She bought a 2022 Jeep , hit a deer in June . It's still in the shop . One thing after another . Depressing .
  6. I had the honor of getting this running and then driving it to it's new home . Took me a second to figure out what everything did , double clutching and all .
  7. Ha . You might be able to do it , if you were . Or , maybe you wouldn't care what's on the radio ? LOL
  8. Today I replaced the inlet 3 way ball valve for the CITY/FRESH WATER TANK in/on our Monaco . The original Swan valve was allowing the fresh water tank to fill when the valve was set in the city position . I spent a couple hours lollygagging the job because I could . Probably could have had it done in one hour , maybe less . I cheated and simply cut the coach system pex lines with a sharpened hand trimmer for small tree limbs . Worked a charm . I left the pex clamped to the fittings . After I had all the fittings transferred from the old valve to the new , I installed a couple of SharkBite straight couplings on the pex and mounted the new valve in the original Swan valve box . The box affords stability when changing valve flow direction and the couplings are a time and energy saver . Done and not a leak anywhere .
  9. About our use on 50 Amp pedestals : In the 12 years we've been full timing , there definitely have been times when power has been out . The original surge protector we started with did it's job very nicely for the first 9 - 10 years before it burned out . I have replaced it with the same model . So far , we haven't had a single appliance go bad or shut down when on 50 Amp , other than the total power outs . Maybe we've just been lucky .
  10. Buying new , I'd go the 50 Amp Hughes . If it's sometimes a little too much , so what . Better a little too much than not enough . I went with the 30 Amp because that's what we needed at the time . Then as now , there seems to be a lot more 30 Amp sites than 50 . But , I think that's changing , moving forward .
  11. I honestly would not be without our Hughes . It's a 30 Amp model . Our Monaco is a 50 Amp rig , but we regularly visit 30 Amp sites . That's when the Hughes really shines . It allows us to lead a pretty normal life without too much concern . We've had it for the last 11 years . I bought it used , so I have no real idea how much older it is . It just keeps working . I will add that we always run a 50 Amp Progressive surge protector .
  12. Now that you know that , you can be careful enough to watch and see exactly how the seals come out . You should be doing that , anyway .
  13. Just so you know , I haven't found a surface harmed by WD40 , either . And Dutch reminded me ... rubbing alcohol , too .
  14. Empty tanks smell just as bad as a full or partially filled tank . And , I've replaced all the air admittance valves ( drain vents ) and still had odors while on the road , until we started closing all drains . I even went up side and made sure the tank vents were open by dripping a heavy nut on a string down each . I almost always have my drivers side window wide open .
  15. If you haven't found this out yet , the grey tank stinks just as bad as the black . Start plugging all of your drains ( sinks and shower ) before travel and you'll likely find the cure for your bad small problem .
  16. I buy local in just about every town we might be staying near . Maybe Darryl & Rita are just being selfish and want to keep all the sugar holes to themselves .
  17. No tie shoe laces . I can't seem to figure out exactly how to use them .
  18. I sometimes have to use a flashlight into the mirror to see what I want .
  19. Maybe use a small mirror to see what the screw is .
  20. Dang . Never seen that one before . Maybe insurance will step up ?
