  1. Buddy of mine that runs his own diesel shop. Even though he has a mag drill. He only uses a pilot hole then reamer. Tells me its faster and less work to set up. He's good at his job. So I'm taking his word at this. Also he had to drill holes a few times per week. But I'm going to borrow his mag drill. LOL
  2. Was this one of the 2 hitches they sold as Test models? Thus no warranty on these? Just asking.
  3. Great thing about a 13 speed. Drive it as a 8 speed, and flip the switch when you need to drop half a gear going up a big grade. Wish mine had a 13, then this 10 direct. but then again 10 direct with 2.93 gears not bad.

    Tires

Look and see if your tires can be re-grooved? Most can and if your only issue is traction. A few hours with a grooving iron. And you can add 3/32 or so to the tires you have. I picked up one years ago on Ebay. Had to order new blades last week. Been re-grooving tires for years. Buddy of mine has 250 Peterbilts. All his tires drives and trailer. Get new life cut into them. And no increase of blowouts. And let me say now. Your going to hear from both sides on this. Many will say its not good. But as long as done right. Its giving you extra miles out of tires. And like my buddy. He is not looking to get them recaped. So that is not an issue. Just make sure to research and do it the right way. AS you don't want to cut deep and not have enough rubber left on the cords.
  5. We left our 9.5' Okanagan 811SL for a 41ft 5th wheel. Man I wish I had my truck camper back. Love the space in the 5th wheel. But like your talking about park anywhere. I could park along streets and never be bothered. Because everyone sees the truck camper. As part of the truck, ours did stick out the back of the bed 3ft. But fit in 99% of the parking spots, just left the 8ft slide in and not out. We sold ours, because both of us were having issues getting into and out of bed. If it had not been for that. This 2012 Heartland Landmark would be gone today. I keep thinking about a triple side truck camper. As were getting ready to start traveling for months on end. Will not sell the Sticks and Bricks. Just travel for months until we tire. Then come home to recharge.
  6. Seen one try to get air born Friday evening. I was running 70 MPH in my old 97 TJ jeep . When this smart car came by. He hit the hump at the river bridge and looked like he got air. Did not know one could run that fast. I know the 4 Hamsters in the 2.5 Jeep was working.
  7. 100% true, I have heard people talk about the good old days. I lived though some of those good old days. And will take now over, no ac, and old tractors and a John Deere 40 Combine. Those were good old days. The last day I had to work on that combine was for sure a good old day.
  8. Enjoy the truck and the playing, I mean work your going to do on it.
  9. Ran a tri-axle dump truck grossing 74,000 lbs with a Ag100. I will say it was fun dumping. But ran that truck 7 months never even got close to laying it over. And standing a 16ft dump bed up on soft ground. Well it sure makes for a fun week. But it would in no way be my choice for a dump truck.
  10. The old Ag100 8 bag would follow the ground with a load. Also most added the big air line kit to most of those also. Even coming out of a field, hauling grain. That Ag100 would come out where others could not.
  11. We plan on making 2022 for sure.
  12. Wish my 10 speed Direct was a 13 speed. But then again the 2.93 gears would make for a high speed chicken truck.
  13. I opened my mouth last weekend. Should have thought before I spoke. My Step Son now owns my 89 Bronco. But I did not drive it that much anymore. But sure have sellers remorse.
  14. You have to watch those old Bronco's. I have a 1989 Eddie Bauer 83,000 miles on it.
  15. I wish that was so. Hooked up ready to back it into the RV shed again. Its on our list of places to go. Same as the east Tn rally.
  16. Being my wife retired the last day of July. We had planned on traveling this year. But between Dr Visits for me, and this virus. We have put off traveling until next year. But did get the truck cleaned up. Trailer is hooked up also, cleaning on it also. New drives will be put on the truck. New tires on the 5th wheel also. Then were close to being ready to travel when the time is here to do so. Truck is only 25 years old, but should have a lot more RV years left in it.
  17. I picked up a box with a bunch of different size green Ac o-Rings. I'm thinking with shipping it was less then $12. Had every size i needed for my KW. I did ask at the dealer, they wanted $25. for the 8 o-rings.
  18. Sounds like us, $400. water bill and $600. electric bill. AC/Heatpump both were running at the same time. Then county was mowing and tractor ran over our meter. Leak was on our side of the meter.🤬 Water bill was taken care of. Electric bill the same just a new unit. What's next?? Normal water bill $40 normal electric $200.
  19. There's a 379 Peterbilt here in West Tn for Sale. It has a I think 120" sleeper and a 8x8 box behind that.

    Tire lifter

That's good to know, the skylight over our Tub. Is getting darker and letting in less light. Sad part its been under a roof out of the sun more than its in the sun. I may just order 2, that way if it never needs one again. And with my luck its no longer made. I will have an extra.
  21. Thanks for the info. Don't think we will see much mud. Now sand may be found, and lots of rock roads. Snow may be also an issue but sure not going to try and find it. Most will be road miles. Along with off the beaten path service roads and Forest roads. Wife and I love to find that spot. Most never even hear about. Less people and traffic fits us perfect. Again thanks for the info. Pete
  22. We plan on taking our Jeep TJ with us. Now I'm replacing the almost new mud grip tires on it. Want something quite, but able to get around out west. Our plans are using it to get off the beaten track. Visit ghost towns and spots most bypass. So looking for a tire that will take care of dirt and sand. Plus be quite on the pavement. The ones on it now, sound like a screaming fool at 65 on the hwy. Pete
  23. So the 55 gallon drum of Methanol I have. I should not be mixing in with my hand sanitizer? Guess were lucky in parts of west Tn. Most shelf's are full, and even TP is easy to get these days. Now every store is out of Common sense. But it was in short demand before 2020 started.
  24. My 1995 KW T600 is quite, unless I hit the jake brake. Then all bets are off for sure. I did add Dynamat to the doors under the panels. Plus carpet makes a big difference. But for me, I love the sound of the engine working.
