  1. The question for Progressive is what happens when you break down. Do they cover the RV? or are you paying for just a car? Do they send a tow truck for both the truck and trailer and how far will they tow it. How many times in a year will they tow your equipment? There are a lot more questions you need to ask Progressive to be able to compare them.
  2. Most towns have a propane supplier and many campgrounds will fill your tank. In 50 years of RVing this has never been a problem.
  3. Each person has a different "basic" life style. They need to do some forecasting. I found this site very useful, https://www.firecalc.com/. By using this you are not involved with a broker or someone who wants to sell you something, keeps everything private.
  4. I think ZTE made/makes the Mobley, not sure.
  5. No problems on mine and we never unplug it. Always on.
  6. Is this to visit NYC or just an overnight?
  7. Why don't you call a vet up in Canada and talk to their office staff. It might not be a prescription in Canada. We buy our cat's and our daughter buys he dogs heart worm medicine from a mail order company in Australia, about 1/3-1/2 the price vs. in the US where it is a prescription. I spoke to the company and it is the exact same, including packaging. Takes abut 10 days to get, Covid has stretched it out a bit.
  8. After a serious talk if you both feel you should go ahead I would buy the RV and try it for 3-4 days at a time initially, if that works, then lengthen out the time until you are both comfortable with the lifestyle. He needs to express an interest in learning and solving problems. RVing isn't for everyone, you do need a sense of adventure and doing the unknown. Escapees has a Boot Camp, it would be well worth the money to take the boot camp before laying out the money for an RV. That will get you grounded in what to expect.
  9. Escapees of course to at least handle your mail, attend Boot Camp and go to Escapades. After that it depends on what type of RVer you are. Passport America is pretty much on everyone's list, Harvest Hosts is fun and different. After those I would wait and determine your camping style.
  10. Our CRV does not allow the doors to be locked if the key is in the ignition and turned on. We watched a tow truck operator break into a neighbors car when the keys go locked in. Amazingly simple. If they don't have AAA then there insurances probably covers this.
  11. I have a Fire 8 and a Kindle Paperwhite. I prefer the Paperwhite, lighter weight and easy to handle. I charge it every week+ and I read every day for an hour+
  12. more for the bucket list Thanks
  13. Thanks for additions to our bucket list. All have been entered. Safe travels
  14. We are staying a month as a break in our travels(started in April), then going to the west coast and down the PCH. Back to winter camp in Oct/Nov.
  15. We are going to be there 8/1.
  16. I mean anyone is lives there now.
  17. I am looking for someone who lives in Evergreen COHO.
  18. x2 for Alliant, Excellent service
  19. It is only $5. We'll turn it off when not traveling.
  20. Changing your mailing address does not change your domicile. We have changed everything over to online and get very little snail mail. I would recommend you start changing your addresses now, change to receiving as much as you can online and auto-pay. You will be glad you did this. Simplifies your life.
  21. I have an extra 2TB EHD so I will use that. I thought the USB would get rid of the wires connecting the Wally/Hopper to the TV. My misunderstanding. So I need to buy an HDMI cable to connect the Wally to the TV, no way to do it wireless? I am tired of all the wires needed for everything. Let me bounce this off of you. We have a Hopper and Traveler, works great until we are in the trees. We are thinking on getting a Wally and Playmaker to get around the tree problem as best we can. Will hook up the Wally to the Playmaker, then the Wally to the TV. Will this work?
  22. Can I use any EHD to record from the Wally? Is there any special formatting for the Wally? Anyone use the wifi connection to the TV? Does it work well? We have our own Hotspot. Thanks
  23. Same here, Thunderbird for many years.
  24. We use Dishpointer Pro. You select the satellites you are interested in, via the camera you see the sky and where the sats are, great for seeing if trees are in the way. In general you need a ssw-ish direction. The azimuth is the challenge.
