  1. Correction to above: Trailer Brake controller is Tekonsha P3 Brake Controller. It works great with disc brakes on trailers and of course with traditional electronic drums on most trailers.

  3. We used to live in NOVA. Not RV friendly IMO and campground options are EXTREMELY limited especially for long term like you are looking for. Plus Dec-Jan might have very cold temps with sub freezing weather.
  4. wire thru the roof is no "con" for us....already have a Wilson stubby antenna up there....which can be replaced with the WFR.....and the way I read it, you can reboot the USB modem from inside.
  5. Anyone looking forward to the future release of the WiFiRanger YODPod as expectantly as us? Getting that USB modem up on the roof? Can't wait to see more and maybe try it. https://www.wifiranger.com/news

    Beartooth Pass

Wise choice....The Bighorn Passes and Beartooth are brutal on large rigs.....
  9. The OP needs a smaller, MUCH lighter trailer or a bigger truck. Period. Spending any $$$ on the "safe tow" device is throwing good money after bad. What a nightmare that would be to full time in!
  10. I'm late to this thread but the topic has been of interest to me for some time... IMO, all big 3 tow ratings have been inflated for the last several years. No way would I use those towing guides in the high end ranges. Personally I would not tow at the high end GCWR with a late model 1 ton. The main issue for me would be the 17" consumer grade tires and the limits 17" wheels put on disc brake sizing. Stepping up to a 450(0) or 550(0) series gets you 19.5" commercial grade rubber and much bigger/stronger brakes that come with 19.5" rims. As an exercise, I just checked the towing tables for a
  11. wow thanks....I just noticed this response....and glad you enjoyed your stay FYI I think there might be a couple lots for sale this summer...
  12. Owner-run rentals might work well with RV resorts with monthly and weekly rentals. With daily only, it's not practical.
  13. We can do that if we want, but it would be totally counterproductive and ultimately bring in a lower bottom line There is no way I could market our lot as well as Portal can. It is impractical as owners need to book out their use in advance, once in spring and once in fall. No way to balance that out with actual rentals which come in more frequently over time. And it would be work we don't want to do. We like how it runs on auto pilot for us!
  14. Nope, we weren't there nor was anyone else! Moab is pretty cold Dec thru Feb. No one RVing then and the lots are unused. Next year, the campground will be closed Dec thru Feb. Our rental season is March thru Oct.
