  1. David, perfect time to be in Central Texas. Sorry we missed you - We left Austin the first of March and missed the bluebonnets. (Got to see the first ones pop out of the ground and then had to vamos). Check out Wildseed Farms just east of Fredricksburg to see the varieties that have Austin is our home. And please get plenty of BBQ (a bit too early for peaches but Blue Bell Ice Cream is good any time)
  2. In Phoenix, AZ (Peoria) for a couple of weeks (Spring Training - Play Ball!).
  3. In Buda, TX (aka South Austin), next to Cabela's through the end of February.
  4. Northwest Arkansas for a few weeks to ride the bike through the Ozarks and get some work done. Pig Trail tomorrow - Woo Pig Sooie (I feel the need to wash my mouth out with soap since home is and always has been - Austin, TX)
  5. Acadia National Park. Timberland RV Park in Trenton, Maine for the next two weeks.
  6. Registration fee of this type of passenger vehicle is by weight, hence the need to submit a weigh ticket from a scale when registering for the first time to establish the fee. Weight can be adjusted but not lowered unless another weight scale ticket is submitted with a lower weight. Fee Schedule
  7. In Sevierville, TN at the RV-Dreams Rally through Monday.
  8. Settled in Waynesville, NC at Lake Junaluska.for the next 2 weeks.
  9. There are signs that say not to but people do it every night. Cabela's does not care (last time I asked the management). It was the city that put up the signs and make a law. The issue was truckers starting to use the parking lot as a drop off or storage for trailers for days/weeks at a time. Just weighed a Motorhome a few days ago who stayed overnight with no issues. Just about every day I wake up to go get breakfast at Dan's there are folks (RVs and Trucks) there overnighting or parked all around the Cabela's parking lots.
  10. Jack we're in Buda next door to the Cabela's, so if your heading for a stay in Burnet/Marble Falls let us know and maybe we can work out a chance to get in a visit with Danielle, Poppy and you. Likewise for anyone heading through Austin on I-35.
  11. In Austin, TX (Buda) just off IH35, next door to Cabela's. Here through February.
  12. Glad y'all got there safe, Rick. You've been in our thoughts the past few days.
  13. First, Don - Thank you for trying to submit a campground to the site! The cumulative picture size was too large and exceeded the limitations of the server (33554432 bytes about 33+mb). It is best to re-size High Resolution pictures where one dimension (height or width) is less than 800px. A simple method to re-size photos in various available programs. If the picture upload does not work please submit the details so that the campground can get on the site. Then they could always be emailed via the contact us (email) link or by replying to the confirmation email. Final suggestion - contacting the designer/developer through the contact us link (upper right corner of web page) is better than posting on the forum. The issue may never be addressed because it may never be seen by the one who needs to know.
  14. Arrived in Goshen, IN. Here for about 4 weeks. (Elkhart County Fairgrounds for 3 weeks) (4th week at Elkhart Campground) Still eating Chicago pizza and we were able to make it North to get a Superdawg and Chocolate malt. There is a hot dog place just south of Goshen in New Paris, IN. We will make a trip there to see what they can offer but this is really the country for pork tenderloin sandwiches.
  15. Eating Pizza in Chicago (Joliet) at Giordano's. Here for about five days and hoping to get up to the northern suburbs to Superdawg to get the best hot dog in America (and possibly the best Chocolate Malt). This is based on our decade+ long hot dog quest. Disclaimer - There is an ongoing internal discussion regarding the distinction between a hot dog and a chili dog. Trey's top two hot dogs are Superdawg and Rutt's Hut in Clifton, NJ with Super Duper Weenie in Connecticut clearly being the best chili dog. Susan compares hot dogs & chili dogs together and places Super Duper Weenie at the top followed by Rutt's Hut then Superdawg. The latest entry we experienced was Pink's when we were in Southern California this spring. Very expensive and nothing special, but it must be done so that no stone goes uncovered.
  16. Phoenix, AZ - Spring Training with 4 stadiums in a 10 mile radius - Awesome!
  17. Alie, welcome to the group! I know nothing of full manual trucks (we have an autoshift) but Lornie Jarmie has one - I think it is a ten speed. She practiced quite a bit at the rally and has developed some real smooth moves! She is in the FB group so you can post your question or make contact with her there. I'm sure she would gladly give you some tips and encourage you to learn to drive it. Keep us posted on your progress! Sharon, we missed seeing you at the rally this year! Have you started fishing yet?
  18. Back to the new law set to take effect in March 2015. Certainly it is good that there will be a way to register/self-certify while out of state when needed. Another option for those who can or may return to the great state of Texas (home of Whataburger) on a regular yearly basis is to change the registration expiration date of all your vehicles to the same month when you regularly return. Some of the clerks are unaware that it is possible to do this because it is not something they normally do but if you kindly ask and explain why, most often they will check with a supervisor and learn that it is possible. I just completed the third and final vehicle change for us on the phone Friday. So, now all three registered vehicles with which we travel now expire the end of December. I did the first two vehicles last winter - one at the main Travis county office and another at an county extension office. This change can only be done within a 90 day window prior to your current expiration date and you will have to pay the prorated extra months when moving the date. So, if you have a time when you might regularly return to the great state of Texas this is an option. It can be done in the office or on the phone but again be prepared for the initial response to be "we can't do that - it is assigned when you first register the vehicle". This is normally true but it is possible to change for a good reason. Courtesy, kindness, patience, a clear explanation, and a humble request should get the ball rolling. If the clerk is stubborn or uncaring/indifferent, then a thank you, have a good day, and another call (or a different office/location visit) to get a different clerk should do the job. Usually their first response is that we can only change it if you wait until it expires. This will not work and is a faulty solution. It is just because the clerk is unaware of the better way since it is rarely done. Supervisors and a few learned clerks are aware. I had all of these experiences during this process over the past year. Referring to the new law and why you want to change the registration expiration date is very helpful, now that the clerks are more aware of the upcoming changes.
  19. Bill I think I fixed the problem - at least it is working now with my testing. Please try again and let me know if it does not work. There is way to contact me through the menu on the website - Contact Us will get an email to me. It would be most helpful to use that method of communication about an issue with the campground guide.
  20. Bill I will look into it as soon as I can. We are currently at the HDT Rally and very busy so it may take me a little while to track down the issue. You are correct that some php errors have crept into the scripting and I will have to do more investigation. And thank you for trying and thank you for letting us know (Thank you, too, Sharon). I will fix as soon as possible. Trey
