  1. Check hours of operation for all of these places - winter and staffing are affecting them.

  2. From the Dometic WH-6GEA Owners Manual (Page 18-19)...

Section 6.4.2 Reestablishing the Thermal Expansion Air Pocket is an important read, too.

    6.4.3 Flushing the Tank
Use this procedure for general flushing of the water heater tank.
    1. Turn off the main water supply (the pump or water hook up source).
    2. Remove the drain plug to drain the water from the tank.
If the water drains sporadically or trickles out of the drain hole, open the P/T relief valve then use a small gauge wire or coat hanger to remove any obstructions from the drain hole.
With the tank drained, approximately two quarts of water remain at the bottom of the tank. This water contains most of the corrosive particles. To remove these particles, use an “RV Water Heater Flushing Tool.” [Darryl's suggestion above] The wand of this flushing tool allows the water jet to clean at different angles inside of the tank. Cleaning at different angles inside of the tank will suspend and flush the corrosive particles out of the drain coupling.
    3. Continue flushing the tank until the water being flushed from the drain coupling is draining as clear water.
    4. Replace the drain plug.
6.4.4 Flushing to Remove Unpleasant Odor
A rotten egg odor (hydrogen sulfide) may be produced when the electro-galvanic action of the cladding material releases hydrogen from the water. If sulfur is present in the water supply, the two will combine and produce an unpleasant smell.
    1. Turn off the main water supply.
    2. Remove the drain plug to drain the water heater tank.
    3. Reinstall the drain plug.
    4. Remove the P/T relief valve.
    5. Mix a solution of four parts white vinegar to two parts water. [noteven & Kirk]
    6. With a funnel, carefully pour the solution into the tank.
    7. Cycle the Water Heater with the vinegar/water solution, letting it run under normal operation four to five times.
    8. Remove the drain plug and thoroughly drain all of the water from the tank.
    9. Flush the Water Heater to remove any sediment.
You may flush the tank with air pressure or fresh water. Pressure may be applied through either the inlet or outlet valves on the rear of the tank or through the P/T relief valve coupling located on the front of the unit. If flushing through the P/T relief valve, lift the handle and apply the air pressure.

Can someone update the big rig RV site for Benton Ar? http://www.hhrvcampgrounds.com/cg_ARC_i13tra.php  Review shows it was shut down the end of April 2019. Being cleared for a car dealership.

This campground is now been removed from the map.

    Submission Concerns

The issues a few have had submitting campgrounds are most likely because of using an iPad or Apple computer with the Safari browser which has conflicts with the submission form. Hopefully, this has been resolved to redirect those specific users to an alternative submission form link. This issue occurred because of an update to the database server and the redirect link for this specific situation was overlooked/missed during that update. Apologies for this error.

    Contact

If there are questions about the campground site then the best way to ask a question is to use the contact us link on the site to send an email or email webmaster@hhrvcampgrounds.com. Posting a concern on the forum is likely to be missed.

The campgrounds mentioned above need to please be submitted through the website.

Campground submissions are sparse, so to save time, submissions to the map are usually done monthly.

  4. Rick and Alicia ( RickW above) are the experts on Yellowstone.

    We've stayed at these locations...

West - Valley View RV Park outside of West Yellowstone (Best location for us)

East (Cody) - Buffalo Bill State Park North Shore (dry camp) and Buffalo Bill State Park North Shore (Electricity/Water) Drive to East Entrance is beautiful but time consuming and long distance.

North - Yellowstone's Edge RV Park in Pray, Montana. This also is a pretty good drive to the North Entrance.

There is a remote park (Chief Joseph RV Park) (Painters Outpost) with full hookups on the Chief Joseph Highway but it is not near any city or facility and is a good drive to the North Entrance BUT the north side of the Park and that general area is our favorite part of the park - Extremely Beautiful

From Cody to this Painter's Outpost there is a pass but RickW has done it in the HDT/Fifth Wheel.

Redwoods - Crescent City - Redwood Meadows RV Resort (formerly Hiouchi RV Park) Great Spot and make sure to check out the Grove of Titans on a nearby hike.

  5. Hey Jim

Smartmadness: Cruise Control - MDC 451 - it includes an adjustable throttle booster as a bonus. (Call them to order the part to make sure it is sent properly)

It took me about 1 hour to install. Follow the given instructions carefully and make sure the electrical connections snap together well.  Rocky's contribution was loaning me a particular socket that I did not have - thank you Rocky and get well soon.

The only observed (very minor) issue is an infrequent random drop out.

The throttle booster is awesome - it reduces some of the delay when depressing the throttle. I think ours is currently set to 3 (of 5).

  6. Took me less than five minutes to renew my Class A at the Texarkana License office - no lines. Eye Vision test, pay and out the door. I already had the form completed before arriving.

Instructions for Renewing at an office with links to needed forms (See the bottom of the page for forms and ID needed to renew in an office)

Out of State Renewal - eye exam still needs to be done

Jack Said - I thought I had heard the A/B non-CDL test was no longer done in Livingston and was only done at designated centers.

Texas DPS site for Regular Class A/B testing locations - And Livingston is not on the list, but who knows?

Livingston is on the CDL testing location list, so maybe at the CDL locations you can also do the Regular Class A/B (it is unclear from these two pages and associated CDL DL-95 document -  page 1 & page 2 )

  8. I am a bobbin girl myself, so I don't know of any bagged solutions. Can you get different sized drawers or boxes so that you can keep your current system intact? Not knowing what size bags/drawers you use or the size of your cabinets it is difficult to suggest options.

I did a Google search on "embroidery floss storage" and saw some ideas that might work for you. Hit the "image" filter below the search box and you will see images rather than just words in your search results. Pinterest had some good results also.

I have tatting, crochet, machine embroidery, and cross-stitch supplies in our RV (and I almost brought my quilting supplies from my mother-in-law's attic this year!). I would love to have it all perfectly organized and easy to access, but that won't happen while we are living in an RV. I've come up with a system that mostly works for me. I am sure you will too. So much fiber - so little space!

Good luck with this and let us know how you worked it out! ~Susan

  9. David, perfect time to be in Central Texas. Sorry we missed you - We left Austin the first of March and missed the bluebonnets. (Got to see the first ones pop out of the ground and then had to vamos). Check out Wildseed Farms just east of Fredricksburg to see the varieties that have

Austin is our home. And please get plenty of BBQ (a bit too early for peaches but Blue Bell Ice Cream is good any time)
