  1. I am lucky. Through no planning of my own at age 55 I began receiving the equivalent of $85,000 before taxes. My rather is looking at retirement in 5 years. He doesn’t have any company supplied retirement. He is a CFO at the top of his pay scale. He projects he will have to have $800,000 in investments to generate $60,000 per year income in retirement. I am better off than I thought although my retirement will not pass on to the kids, only the DW will be taken care of.
  2. Where are you getting your state of charge from? You really need a battery monitor such as the trimetric.
  3. If you have Medicare, that is primary and tracer is secondary. If your wife is not old enough for Medicare, she would benefit from a trickster supplement. She also would not be on tricker for life until she started Medicare.
  4. I retired at 55 due to disability. I now receive 3 checks, 2 tax free and the other will not be taxed due to that is my only income. Two years ago I was diagnosed with cancer. We were in Mesa, Az and I have a fantastic oncologist. It is in remission but I have to take a cancer pill every day. I am more busy in retirement due to the grandkids that I ever was working. When you retire you had better hang on.
  5. Aren’t there any numbers on the shock? If not, measure the collapsed and extended lengths.
  6. Make sure you have good air flow around the generator. Have you tried running it with the compartment open? There is no bottom to the compartment is there? The Oman is open on the bottom for cooling.
  7. If you can get east coast feed, you get the first viewing of the shows. You can watch them and get to bed earlier or sleep in in the am and watch your morning shows.
  8. We change as often as every week while on the road.
  9. Use the chat feature. You get more professional people that way and a lot quicker.
  10. Harbor freight has meters really cheap that will work for this event.
  11. Where are you located? I would replace the switch first. It is bad. When I had a class A I had fuses under the hood and also above my left foot. There should be a relay near the batteries that the switch controls. Follow the positive cable and you should find it. If you have volt meter check voltage at starter solenoid when the key is turned.
  12. Sounds like a faulty switch. When you turn it does it actually disconnect power? You can tell by turning on the ignition and have someone watch the idiot lights. Is the switch just a toggle switch on the dash? I’d so it goes to a relay that may not be passing sufficient amps. Is it a switch you rotate? If so you can pull the switch and connect all cables to one post. Is it gas or diesel? Do you have a large fuse in your battery compartment? If so that would be for the ecm. Can you check voltage at the starter while someone turns the key?
  13. And he had his kids swap out his plates. So he just happens to carry different plates? I wonder what has prompted this.
  14. The real problem is overseas customer support and untrained personnel.
  15. I just did it on chat for the first time. It was way easier than calling them and getting someone that doesn’t speak English. Also didn’t mess with my account.
  16. This is normal and the stress is removed by pulling forward slightly and then backing up un a straight line, as others have stated. Not a reason to run. It is a reason to crawl under the rv and look at the spring hangers, shackles and the spring packs themselves. One member on here had 2 different springs break at different times. I replaced one set and had him purchase the parts for the second axle. When it happened again, a Good Samaritan replaced that set for him. Just look very well. The hangers can start pulling from the frame. The frame can actually start cracking in the middle from the stress.
  17. The only use for them that I can see is to buy and sell. There are some merchants that take them, not very many. The value is only in what people are willing to pay for it.
  18. A Vicron and digital remote will cost less than the Magnum

  20. Bird,an, thanks. I will keep my prescription coverage for my chemo drugs. It took my dr 4 months to get them approved through Humana and I don’t want to go through that again. At least I shouldn’t have any out of pocket expenses for care or meds. I will call Mutual of Omaha and talk to the, about stopping my supplement in March.
  21. I used to work at the Va as a RN. I will not be hospitalized at a VA facility. I do go to the VA clinic for my pain meds since I only have to bee seen every 6months to receive them. I am on Medicare since I am on disability. I receive my military retirement March 1. I will also start Tricare prime. I have a few questions. As a cancer patient, what things won’t Tricare Prime pay for? My maintenance chemo drugs are $16,000 per month. Is there a medication plan and how much is it? My wife can’t go on Tricare Prime since she isn’t on Medicare yet, has 4more years. Since we travel full time, which flavor of Tricare is the best for her and what is the monthly cost? I know I could call the Tricare nu,bed but I want real life experiences, not so,e govern, ent worker that I am taking up their valuble time.

    RV Batteries

Since you are going with AGM, this does not apply, but for others you can install a watering system. This is great especially for hard to reach batteries. It has a bulb pump and you pump until it gets hard. The batteries are full. Di this once a month. You will be shocked how much water they use. Once a year is just often enough to be replacing batteries quite often.
  23. Our water lines enter under the sink through a hole in the heater duct. There or 2 other holes in the heater duct to warm the belly. Warm air rises so the warm air from the belly comes in under the sink. I used pink foam insulation and silver tape to seal the hole.
  24. We are in Plainview, Tx visiting the grand kids. The city rv park is undergoing renovations so we are staying at a brand new park, Hitchin Post Rv Park and Cabins. Open only a month. They paid a designer to help lay out their park. They now know he didn't know what he was doing. They are going to make all the sites wider. I bent their ear a little about having some 100ft pull through sires for us HDTs. One of the owners is the head of the physician group my daughter uses and he stopped by and we chatted a little. Very nice people and looking forward to them growing.
