We are Cherie & Chris (and our cat Kiki). We hit the road when we were in our early 30s back in 2006. We identify as technomads - or technology enabled nomads.
Chris hit the road solo in April 2006 in a 16' T@b teardrop travel trailer. He met Cherie online shortly therafter, and she decided to also sell most her stuff and join him. After a year trial run, we upgraded to a super spacious fiberglass 17' Oliver Travel Trailer (a foot makes a huge difference!) that we traveled in for 3 more years. In the summer of 2011, we decided to shake things up and bought our 1961 vintage bus conversion and in 2017 we also added a motor yacht to our travel fleet. We have a camper van that we use to move between the two and enjoy side trips.
We work as we travel - running our little software development & technical consulting firm. In addition to supporting our clients (including helping found Xscapers & RVillage), we also write some useful iPhone & iPad apps for us travelers. We mainly write them for fun, and to solve problems we encounter in our own travels. And since so many asked us how we keep online, we wrote a book about the topic (The Mobile Internet Handbook) and launched a resource center dedicated to the top (RV Mobile Internet) to provide an unbiased source of information.
We love making new friends, that's part of the joy of this lifestyle.
We blog about our life on the road, and share what we've learned at http://www.technomadia.com
