  3. We have arrived in Whitehorse, YT. We will be here for a couple of days then on to Anchorage before making our way to Fairbanks. We will be at the Tanana Valley Fair Campgrounds for the Summer. Bill and Sharon if you are in FBKs look us up. 1.189 per litre ~ $4.49CND/US gal highest price seen. YT was actually cheaper than upper BC Cheapest 1.129/litre ~ $4.27CND/US gal
  4. In Dawson Creek, BC for a couple of days. Piggy Backing on Free WIFI --
  5. We are in Bellingham till Sunday -- Then off across the border heading north to Alaska. Planning on arriving in Fairbanks around May 15.
  6. WOW! We are sitting in the local RVPark in Ogden, UT We made our run back from MI and spent a few more hours with the Flatgards visiting with them at their home. Then, ironically, we ran into Speckman again on the Interstate in Nebraska. So, we stopped at the nearest Flying J and had lunch. It's always fun visiting with other HDT'ers. We'll be here for a couple days, then north to Washington State.
  7. We are currently in Ionia, MI for couple of days. The trip here was filled with surprises. First there was the strong wind of Nebraska - can you say head winds and high gusts? We also managed to stay just behind the storms and tornadoes. Then, Talk about what a small world....and coincidences; As things were settling down a bit, we stopped to wet the tires and also to input the Flatgards address into our mapping program while at a rest stop in Iowa. As we got back onto the freeway heading east someone in the right hand lane was waving at us. We get up beside the car, and low and behold, it was Steve and Sandy. So we got to stop at a roadside cafe and visit with them, what a great time. We look forward to visiting again on our way back west. Then, as we get in to Illinois we called Speckman knowing he was somewhere near... and he was. So, today we were able to stop and spend some time with him and catch up with a whole year of going's on's. Isn't this lifestyle grand?
  8. We will be on the road again, leaving Greeley, Colorado tomorrow AM. We are going to bobtail up to Michigan to see my brother for a couple of days then head back to Colorado and hook-up the trailer and jeep for our trip to Washington. We will be in Washington for a week or two prior to our travels north to Alaska for the summer.
  9. We have arrived in our new temporary location, Greeley, CO. We will be here a week or so. Had some problems in Santa Fe, NM (Thursday) Had a ruptured fuel line. Diesel was spraying out all over the engine block. Spent the night in a mall parking lot and the next day I spent a few hours removing and replacing the fuel line from the fuel pump to the back side of the block. $41.00 dollars and a few squirts of ether later we were back on the road.
  10. Bob, Cindy and I are sad to hear you have to return to the cold weather. We were looking so forward to see you and Diana. I guess will have to make a run across the border some other time. Have a happy Thanksgiving and we will see you on your next trip.
  11. Bob, We would love to do Thanksgiving with you and Diana. We are currently sitting next door to Rich and Kathy at the Lackland Village RV Park, maybe we can have a small HDT group dinner. Anyone else in the area?? Come on Down. We will be heading to NM after Thanksgiving for a new assignment at the Ranch SKP Park in Lakewood, NM. We will be there till April
  12. We have returned from the frozen north. Arrive back in San Antonio yesterday afternoon. The weather was nice, a 100 degree impovement -20 to 80+/-. Sure is nice to wear shorts again. We will be here through November 23 or so
  13. Here we are, Well at least the truck and trailer are in San Antonio. We arrived last last night, pulled into the RV park midday today. Thanks for all your help Rich! We are in the site next to Rich and Kathy Richards, but are flying out to Fairbanks, AK tomorrow and will be there until November 14. Hey Speckman! we'll be sitting at the Turkey table where? Let us know what to bring for the dinner party. Thanks Scott Nolan for the route tips, US 79 was a good choice. I-20 in to TX is like the frost heaves in to Alaska. And, thanks Jim and Val for just always being there. We're still workin' on the 3 2's though. Kinda blew it on the trip here. (the kids)
  14. Scott, Are you still following the rules of triple - twos? (drive 200 miles, arrive by 2:00pm, stay 2 days) or modified rules of two Drive two days, Stay two hours and leave by 2:00 am? We just arrived yesterday into Anderson, SC Will be here a week or so.
  15. RW, Thanks for the concern, we are fine and doing well. The fire was located on highway 179 about 5-7 mile(as the crow flys)from our location. We live off of 89A - 5 miles Southwest of Sedona (west of 179) and Work about 7 miles north of Sedona (north of 179) The residents here got very lucky. The fire started by a fencing contractor who was grinding on a metal fence post. This fire started in a subdivision and ended up consuming 2 homes and a few out buildings, but had the potential to take out up to 500 homes. The wind worked with the residents and the fire worked up the side of a mountain. Currently 50% contained. Approx 850 acres. The area, like the whole state is extremely dry and fire danger is very high. Working in Oak Creek Canyon is great but could be very bad if a fire were to start in the canyon.
