  1. I do what randy does ,never had a issue in over 10 years.By the time they settle on to the drums the shoes have equilizised in some way and have not seized ,ever during covid when the didn't move for over a year -freedom line trans ,many a time i have forgot to place it in neutral without issue ,turn the key and neutral is found by default i guess.
  2. Its probably not rubbing on anything ,but a heads up to any that have a break near the middle like I did (bird strike). It could rub on the nearest radiator and cause a leak.Dont let it go there are a lot of nice options after market. chrome shop etc
  3. could that be a springtime (thaw) restriction ?If so they usually expire by may or june at the latest.
  4. what Nigel said ,not a big deal ,bunch of things make "motorhome" pick any 4 ,like most states . Service ontario staff took my word for it that all motorhome items were installed (they were /are) but refused to climb into the cab ,guess they were intimidated. Another ontario conversion documented the equipment had a notary sign off on the paperwork ,and that was suffiecant . If you run into a service ontario that doesn't want your money try another, service ontario is a contractor to the government, they will find a way to accept your funds.
  5. I remind myself Iam a motorhome Iam a motorhome- repeat the chant as I pass the scale.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  6. Carl and Donna laid the foundation of our niche in the RV world, built it to be sustaining and growing , this effort will continue to evolve from that beginning and never be forgotten. Thank you Carl and Donna
  7. good god - nice piece of driving ,i saw the vid last night posted by an other HTD er. that trailer is toast ,just the rear cap damage would do it. Salvage your good stuff and start with a clean sheet . I just shake my head at the random cussedness of the universe.
  8. looks really good ,wish i could of seen it in person
  9. never heard of a 16 speed freedom line ,thought they were all 12's.Still being built all over the world but a old (law)suit keeps them from the U.S.
  10. the bully/block sees 100 the winch sees 50 and the dead end sees 50, if you are using twice as much line........ (we are ignoring friction). you know if you add enough tackle/ purchase you can end up with no advantage ,it all is lost to friction in the rope and pull sheaves.
  11. slow down and don't overdrive them ? sorry๐Ÿ˜‡
  12. inflatables are terrible boats ,wind blown and tiring to paddle .however In a cold water lake they are rolls royce comfortable. The high pressure ones are expensive ,like yacht tender dollars (which are a order of magnitude more) then camping dollars.
  13. heck you can make a screen door float ,just bring a can of that wal-mart miracle sealer and some chicken wire. reminds me of a story out of new zealand years ago ,a dude brought a bag or two of fero cement to the beach, piled the sand into a boat shape -plastered it and he had a boat next day,end of vacation left it as a new 'reef'.
  14. HA great minds and all that. my pac a yak is my fav for now, the 2 man when the admiral needs to come along.
  15. I have a high pressure inflatable (2 man) ,a folboat and a 5 segment kayak. I looked at vertical storage and it will not give you a decent length of boat ,certainly not a 2 person. There are many joined, collapsable ,and some assembly required boats out there(port-a-boat). I get wanting to use what is already in your possession but a canoe is the least likely to work with a tall trailer and tall truck. Believe it or not a port a boat will go under the trailer, about 4" thick.
  16. yup Even if I put it in neutral myself ,I can hear it double checking .
  17. We always take the commercial lane ,had a officer call the union on us for being in the car lane. Oh and mine goes back into gear at any speed (freedomline) I know because more then once I hit the neutral button instead of manual at hwy speeds .
  18. Always too soon Always a shock Good bye friend

    Balancing tires

my centramatics 'wobble' every spring after a long idle period ,takes 20-30 kms before things smooth out. Like a out of round tire ,maybe give em some time.

I remember a picture of a locomotive converted to natural gas ,the fuel had to be stored in tank cars (full size) it had 3or 4 tank cars of compressed natural gas behind the locos, not what I would want behind me in a wreck. compare that to the saddle tanks of diesel ,slug under the body of the power unit, natural gas must be a order of magnitude less dense. again a matter of energy density, our forbears were not stupid when they picked gas/diesel.

so just a thought experiment ,imagine a group 31 (battery)size container of fuel, how far will it get you down the road? now how far will a lithium battery that size get you? called energy density ,without google just from my defective memory the energy density of electron storage is not even within 2% of liquid fuel ,so they can pass all the laws they want, the laws of physics trump them. notice how far down the road these "feel good"laws are. They know they will not have to answer for the nonsense
  23. all the extra plastic on mine got knocked off the first year, snow banks did the rest
