  1. I'm at Rainbow Plantation for the second winter. Verizon is turning 15-20Mbps on my Pepwave, ATT on my phone is ok. Agesilaus lock onto Verizon band 4; right now it's 18.84Mbps. The bands which have a stronger signal are horrible because everyone's devices go on them. DW's Verizon phone says -116dBm, which is marginally usable for Facebook etc. There's lots of things going on in the clubhouse, just getting started with very active stuff.
  2. If Onan... Cummins Sales and Service 7045 North Loop E Service RoadHouston, TEXAS 77028713 679-2220 Rv & Onan Mobile Service 4117 Placid StreetHouston, TEXAS 77022832 858-4345
  3. One thing to bear in mind is that eastern North Carolina and South Carolina tends to flood tremendously from hurricane rainfall.
  4. Sumter Oaks has very good wifi via Tengo; customers pay for access. That park is a bit unique because Verizon and Tmobile are/were very weak. But I wouldn't put much money into park wifi today because of cheap phones and service. Those who really want good internet will bring their own.
  5. You're self-certifying. Odd but that's how it works. We didn't have two documents showing the Bushnell address either. The Bushnell tax office is very used to Escapees and, depending on your location, be worth a trip there just for the easy d/l change.
  6. I recently had the USPS not validate a USPS Post Office Box address! Stupid.
  7. We've streamed at a large variety of locations and services with and without a VPN; no problems. We have no "live" subscriptions such as Youtube TV or Hulu Live, therefore no home location and no location to change.
  8. If you don't need a bunch of fancy amenities try the Escapees parks in Bushnell and Summerdale.
  9. If you have a hotspot device it will act as a wifi hub when there's no internet, or iow, you could mirror from a laptop via the hotspot to a Roku etc.
  10. Rather than complaining and telling people to not follow gps, those campgrounds simply need to send map corrections to the gps companies, who forward them to the mappers. I've done it a couple of times with Garmin and the maps were corrected on the next update.
  11. Seems to me that with an erroneous setting on the gps, the gps was doing exactly what it was told to do. On my gps there's a setting for "avoid unpaved roads." Also, gps settings can be rather obtuse. On mine there's a setting for "avoid highways" but it really only refers to Interstates. That said, of course there are map errors, which are rather common.
  12. Many people don't understand their gps settings or don't even bother. For example, with two items set wrong my gps will route me straight through downtown Atlanta on surface streets. I suspect there were medical cognitive aspects.
  13. Somewhere or other I read that the woman told her relative that they didn't have "highway" checked on the gps. I gather that would have prevented the gps from leading them up jeep trails. At any rate, It can be rather dangerous to blindly follow a gps. Sad.

    Propane

To complete this, Robertsdale Feed & Seed is great for propane fill, easy in and out for MH and toad. I don't believe there's a closer fill to Rainbow Plantation. Of course they also fill smaller tanks. For tank exchange, Greer's Supermarket in Robertsdale it cheapest and Walmart is about 50 cents higher. At higher prices, there are innumerable Dollar Generals. Fill up before you get here and use an Extend-a-stay to avoid having to pull off your lot and trudge up to Robertsdale. BTW, Greer's is great for online ordering and you pickup.
  15. I simply got insurance online with Geico, Progressive, Foremost etc.
  16. My MH insurance is at the SBI address, as is my car insurance. Previously it all was at a UPS Store address. I haven't used a residential address for vehicle insurance in Florida since 2009. No one has questioned anything. SBI can provide you with a "real" address, which should satisfy your domicile requirements, insurance, d/l etc. Just ask them. Otherwise, join Escapees, join their mail service and get a domicile address at Bushnell, Fla., which is a real residential address, and then use their Texas address as your mailing address. That will also satisfy address requirements. For example, my d/l is 4602 CR 673 #xxyy, Bushnell, Fla., but I still use the SBI PMB simply because it's such a pain to change addresses. If I was starting from scratch I'd do it all with Escapees.
  17. A 20-minute rinse is specified for my Watts softener; after a bit of salty taste I've been using 30 minutes for several years.
  18. No, I wasn't a Texas resident. People routinely register vehicles in states they don't reside (domicile) in at their summer homes etc. I was renting a lot at a CG, which gave me a legal Texas address. It wouldn't work at a short-term place such as a state park. You can of course title and register the vehicle in Missouri while you're in Texas; you'll need to obtain or download and print the appropriate form and mail it, the title etc to Missouri. Missouri may require VIN confirmation by a Texas LEO.
  19. You can register it in Texas like I did if you have some sort of Texas address. You need title, bill of sale and Texas inspection. Then eventually you can transfer it all to Missouri.
  20. Re-marking the territory because you keep stealing the marker. 😁
  21. Get the form and call the Sumter County Sheriff's Office. I doubt you can actually get in and out the DMV lot.
  22. https://redgatecampground.com/
  23. I use both FBP and Social Fixer. Without them I'd give up on FB. Through the last election cycle I very rarely saw anything I didn't want to see on my feed and still don't.
