    Because of issues beyond  my control I have to retract my availability of a site for a RV. I thought I could help people out but it will not happen. I am sorry for any issues that I may have created     Pat

    At this time it doesn't look like we'll be there because of plans for Hawaii but if we could we would get one of the cabins. If nothing else we would be at the Happy Hours! Our first ECR was here at Va Beach in 2010. We were there with our 37' Cardinal and 550 Ford. Had a great time. We went to the 2011 ECR at Myrtle Beach and stayed in a condo. We bought Pats Pride in May of 2011 and towed with it for 10 Years. Miss It! Once you tow with a rear truck you won't tow with anything else. The invite is open to anyone coming to the area. Power h20 and black water hookup. Its free!    Pat

    Carl And Donna    I haven't been on the site in along time and this is the first time I found out about your PL change. Glad it isn't health related but after all you two have done to make the ECR a great get together I know it must be a really important issue with y'all. I really want to thank you for all that you did to make the 5 ECR's we got to attend a really great time. And as you said  we got to meet a great group of people and make a bunch of new friends. We sold Pats Pride and the 5er right after the ECR in 2021. With the price of fuel now maybe we made the right choice at the right time. I miss it but Shirley was ready to get out of "That Big Truck". If you still are able to hit the road upon occasion and you get out our way know that We can put you on the slab with power, h2o,  and blackwater hookup.     Truck    Do you still live in Va? I live in Chesapeake And there are 2 of us who use to or still do have a Volvo for a 5er. Where exactly do you live? If you plan on buying a truck and making it a RV good luck. Va is really tough trying to get it titled as a RV.     Cory   Have a great trip and remember if you get out here to the east coast of Va we can put you the 5er and the truck up for your visit with power and drainage. And a tour the the worlds largest naval Base. Just relax and enjoy the scenery. Have a great summer!!  Pat

    Just been reading the post and sure do miss being there. If we hadn't sold the truck and the 5er we would have been there. Just thinking about the great people we won't get to see is depressing. Just want to tell everybody we sure miss being there and making new friends but life goes on. So everybody there have a great time and enjoy every minute because life is really short. Life is so short you should eat the desert first!! Take advantage of every "Happy Hour" Anybody that heads to Va Beach area just know that we have a very empty slab that would welcome a real truck and 5er. With availability of spaces real tight let me know if you need one. Full hookups and a tour of the worlds largest Naval Base is part of the package!! 757 646 1686.is my cell #.     Great looking Bed! Being able to do it yourself gives a person a real since of accomplishment. You and your assistant did a magnificent job. Something to be proud of because you did it "Yourself". I wish we could be at the ECR but having sold Pats Pride after towing with it for 10 years we don't have anything to tow! So have a great week and our thoughts will be there even if we aren't.    Pat

  8. Pats Pride Is Gone

    It was a great run. We met a lot of great people, made a bunch of new friends, got to see a lot of our great US. However things change and we are now without. We talk about getting a little C but as of yet haven't looked to hard. So now that the slab that had a truck and 5er on it for 18 years is empty and very barren. If anyone is in our area, Va Beach Williamsburg Va. area we can offer a site for a 5er and a HDT. W power and water And we can dump tanks. 757-646-1686. We do have a happy hour here. We had Pats Pride for 10 years. When I am thinking about towing with it I still get a big grin upon my face!! But all things change. I'll still hang around on the site and always be here if anyone is in town and needs help or a tour of the Worlds Largest Naval Base. Stay safe and healthy.     Pat

    Carl    When I was headed to the ECR in 2016 i painted the hood in the back yard. Looked real good and the price was right. Just takes time to tape and some fore thought about how you are going to reach the highs and the lows. Be sure to be careful with over spray. Find a body man/painter  and have him spray it.     TW  It did take 5 years to get her to change her mind. That was the good news now the bad news , we sold the 5er and the Pride. We are now without anything sitting on the slab. A sad time in Flat Rock. Maybe a small C will be in the future but time will really tell.Text or call anytime. Be safe and take care. Pat

    We want to thank Carl and Donna and everyone else that helped in making this years ECR a Great Success! We really had a good time and enjoyed meeting old friends and making some new ones. It was a bit chilly the last few days but we enjoyed it none the less. i also want to thank Chit (Never Easy) for helping find the ground issue I looked for 5 days. He found it in 40 minutes! The man is a Wizard!!! Pats Pride ran like a top coming home. it was a very enjoyable trip. Hope to see everyone next year.   Pat

    Twisty   I had plans of converting a big truck to a RV here in Va. After many calls to DMV I still had no answer. The one thing I'm sure of: if a truck has been registered in Va as a Class A You can't convert it to a RV. However if you can buy a truck with the M/H title and Va will honor it. That is the way I got "Pat's Pride" a 98 Volvo 610. We have been towing with it since 2011. I had a 550- Ford for 5 years and after towing with the Volvo I would never go back to a little truck. The wife was not totally for the Volvo but after towing with it out west and having the Jake brake that made going down the other side much easier. The Cummins N 14 made going up the hills in the left lane no problem. She enjoys the air ride seats and the comfort the truck allows. We have been towing a 43' Mesa Ridge for 6 years. A CDL isn't required but I went and got one anyway. The Volvo is registered in Va and insured by State Farm. We have been with SF since day one. What I would recommend is doing a day trip and come down to Chesapeake and go for a ride in our truck. My wife and I have had both shots for the virus. My cell is 757-646-1686. I have a shop behind the house. PP has been in there but not for anything major. It only has 590k. So any ?'s or if you just want to talk trucks or RVing give me a call!!   Pat

    Reservations made at Cville now just need to get registered for the Rally. Hope everybody is safe and warm. It really sounds bad in the Midwest and in Texas. Hope everybody can stay warm and safe. Think Spring!!!! And Bourbon with the crowd. Or as many as they will let us get together with.   Pat

    You will love the tuck and it won't take your wife to really learn to love it too! Having jumped from a 550 Ford to our 610 she came around in a hurry. I did have to add a Air Ride to the passenger side. If it isn't there try to get one in the deal. where are you located?   Pat
