  1. There's as many versions of Jeep brackets as you want to look at. We ran a Blue Ox system, older style that isn't sold anymore, and would fold against the bumper or remove with pins. We started with a separate set of magnet mount lights, with wire connections at the front and back. We moved to diodes in the wiring to run the factory lights, after a LEO tried to ticket us for "Improper Lighting". He was full of shirt stuffing, but in the interest of not having to return for a court appearance, we agreed to change them before our return through his jurisdiction.
  2. 200 ft/lb +_ 15 ft/lb, according to Bendix
  3. As Rickeieio said, unless they're rare collector cars, sell them and replace in the valley. Smog testing is just 1 of the expenses importing a vehicle to AZ. Insurance is cheaper, tags are probably a wash. The volume of used vehicles down there will blow your hair straight back. Or, ruffle the peach fuzz.
  4. It sounds like you're having multiple issues, just keep on chasing them down and eliminating them, one by one. The last time we had fuel delivery issues, we both got pretty good at maxing RPM before the stumbles hit. Part of the joys of an AutoShift transmission. If you have a stick, I still wouldn't recommend that many miles. The dirty looks coming from the right seat are mighty uncomfortable.
  5. What breaker? What rating/size?
  6. Just because you post a web link to a search term, doesn't mean there's a vehicle available to rent. Even reserving well ahead is no guarantee that you'll get a vehicle, and even less of a chance, if you need a specific vehicle type. We needed a large passenger van last summer, ended up with three SUV, from three different rental agencies. Had to have three different people rent them, due to location spread, and insurance policies. The initial reservation was entered almost six months in advance, with follow up confirmations every month. The day of pickup, the reservation was there, sans vehicle. No explanation was offered, and a single five passenger SUV was offered in place of a twelve passenger van.
  7. Agree. There are few people willing to take on this amount of work, probably due to the pure bull work of moving the fridges around, and the detail work of finishing the trim to make it look good. There are even fewer fridge manufacturers willing to offer a warranty on their products, due to the "unconditioned" air space of an RV in travel.
  8. I don't remember if I mentioned it, or not, but Cummins QuickServe will allow you to access 5 engine serial number files for free. A quick profile setup, enter your engine serial number, and you'll have access to everything Cummins knew about your engine, as it was built, or serviced by Cummins shops
  9. Travel day today, but that sounds right. Don't forget, Cummins is famous for fuses on the ground wires. That means more places for corrosion to say Hello.
  10. In order of your list: any kitchen staples are permitted, keep them in their original packaging to prove the origin. Citrus fruit is a year by year restriction. Leafy veg, pretty much leave stateside. Same for potatoes. Canned items will be allowed, assuming store bought. Frozen stew, soup, or any combined meal, follow the previous. Kitchen utensils are not an issue, unless you're flying. Pets will need a Rabies vaccination report, along with a vet signed certificate of health.
  11. Both of those fancy "splitters" are nothing more than a pipe tee, with some internal hooey. As long as your tanks are plumbed level, fuel has to obey the laws of physics, and draw/return equally to/from both tanks evenly. Chasing pipe threads too far can result in a useless hunk of scrap metal, if you're not careful.
  12. I carry a set very similar, minus the locking handles. Comes in handy for other thing around the RV, like stiff sewer hoses. I also have several of the other styles in the toolbox at Junior's place.
  13. Several choices available. Strap wrench style: Jaw style: Pocket style: Be aware that the pocket style is filter specific, and has a lot lower size range. Harbor Freight locking style:
  14. Take the door off, both the fridge, and the trailer. Grease the sides of fridge with bacon grease. Hold your tongue just right. Easy peasy.
  15. Province of British Columbia is notorious for their enforcement.
  16. Sure, great idea. We need more undersized tow units on the road. /S
  17. Forest River has a huge umbrella, with plenty of different brands under it. Each has some merits, some have only a few(price), some have more. Shop carefully.
  18. Palomino is a weekend unit, at best. Just saying.
  19. If you have a pump to recirculate back to the tank, add your own filter and housing. Polish your own fuel. If you put a metal wand on the suction, such that you can get down to the worms, it'll be faster. The other option, buy a Costco size box of filters, and be ready to swap them on the side of the road. Not my preferred location, but if you got good life insurance, Mama might be set.
  20. Yup, your truck has worms. Could be bio-contamination. Doesn't look like asphaltenes. You're South-East this winter, right. Find you a boat area, ask around. You're looking for a fuel polishing company. They pull fuel out, filter it, and send back to the tank. Big business around boatyards.
  21. Ain't nobody goin' question why a magic fuse fixes the "problem", when most of these fires weren't in vehicles with a trailer connected? Why is there a draw on that circuit, sitting in the driveway? Is my battery going to go dead over a long weekend, sitting? A 15 amp draw will easily kill that battery in short order.
  22. That sounds like a win, to me. Or, maybe a Disney movie, especially if you get a yellow dog. Good shooting, sir.
  23. Clear fuel with a worm shaped object on the bottom of the tanks, or a general coffee appearance? The worm can usually be "vacuumed" out via a siphon tube, and a metal tube to get into the tank. Coffee needs to be filtered out, and fuel returned to the tank. The fuel goes in a circle, multiple time, until it's clear again.
  24. You should be fine, should. It wouldn't hurt to carry a spar box, and run off the available supplies. Most large fuel stops have DEF available at the pump, or inside in smaller containers. DEF is a known commodity now, not like when it first came out. If you're travelling with a smaller diesel, I'd still be carrying a spare box, just because. The small vehicle islands don't seem to have DEF at the pump as often. DEF is also available at most any department store, like Walmart, Costco, among others. In western Canada, we have a chain of stores called Peavey Mart, along the lines of Tractor Supply. Canadian Tire is another department store style chain, both carry DEF.
