  1. lippert builds drv chassis to drv specs. This discussion brings to mind a story. Years ago I worked on a maintenance job and we basically done what was needed. A part of the plant had many changes over the years. Upgrades and additions had added lots of weight to the building. So engineers had us go in and add braces to the steel. We tore out walls, welded in cleats and bolted steel. Well we should take a lesson from them. We add more and more in our campers and never consider the weight specs of the unit. Now we on this forum are more informed than the masses of rv owners. I dare say over half of rvs are overloaded and some severely. I am surprised there are not more failures.

  2. There are some youtube videos of them. they work well and cleaning is simple. They are power hungry. also make a gas model. They are costly though. Less than lots of septic systems though. Search youtube for Ambition Strikes, burring our poop.

I never understood why the code was changed to eliminate the requirement for a drip-leg at each appliance.  I opened the drip-leg on my 30G LP water heater here at home, it was dry and empty after 56 years, but i'm keeping it JIC.

I had a new 120,000btu LP furnace installed, no drip-leg was installed. We'll see what happens.

Ray, i believe the original owner must have left system open and it was in Huston area so lots of humidity. It should not have happened under normal conditions.

I hate to tell you, but it doesn't get better as the years go by. I was on duty as a driver in our community today 8 hours, most of the time spent waiting for someone. I am tired like I had actually worked all day.

Think it had a lot to do with me being rather laid back for the last year. Just go on daily walks. Got out of shape.

  5. I posted some time back about rust clogging my orifice in my furnace. I am not traveling anymore so today I abandoned the steel lines and ran 1/2" copper tubing. I ty waped it to the steel lines. Did find rust and fluid in the lines. Most of this was where the tee was for the furnace. I added a drip leg at the end of the line which goes to hot water heater and stove. This area is close to axles so clearance not problem. I was concerned about a drip leg at furnace tee. Could hang on something. Once get on my property, about 10 miles away, may add one. be easy to do. I am surprised how tired I got doing this.

  6. wife and I are not traveling now. So we got a local physician together. He has his own practice. Told us we will never get a bill from him. If Medicare doesn't pay all he absorbs it. Nice to know. They are several to choose from here. A friend of ours recommended him. We are pleased so far. If we need a specialist he sets it up. My early life as a welder exposed me to asbestos so chest x-rays yearly is way of life.

I never consciously hung up my keys. I just let Dave drive me wherever I wanted to go until one day I realized I hadn't driven for about five years. I no longer trust myself to do so now. My sense of space when backing up is shot.

My wife is about the same. She has her own car and I have to keep a charger on it so battery don't die. She hasn't drove it for a year now.
