We just bought a 1999 Class A which have the pleated shades for the front windshield, the pleats are vertical and the shades are white or maybe used to be. Very dirty! Is there a way to clean them or should I replace them and if so, anyone have a good idea for diy shades?

I have a 2015 Itasca Ellipse that I purchased in 2017. It has stackable Splendide washer and dryer. Both have worked with no problems to date. However, last laundry day the dryer ran and was warm but would not get hot. I had to run it 3x to get the clothes dry. I ALWAYS clean the lint trap each time. I suspected that maybe the vent was cloged but air is coming out the outside vent. The air coming out is warm but not hot. Any sugestions?

Hello! My husband and I will be living full time in our RV with our little baby, and I'm looking for an effective, inexpensive washing machine for us. I plan on hanging everything to dry, so I only need the washer, and I don't mind the small capacity. Giantex looks makes several inexpensive, well-rated models that are small enough to fit in the door and not take up the entire closet, but there are obviously other brands as well. Have any of you used the small, apartment-sized washers in your RVs? Any recommendations?

I am planning on doing a little preventative maintenance on the roof of my fifth wheel before I hit the road so that it is not something I have to worry about or fix down the road

As per the recommendations of several here I will be using the Liquid Rubber White Liquid EPDM Roof Coating

What I am running into are the reviews on Amazon. Some state that they barely had any coating left from a 5 gallon bucket on a 28ft trailer. Others state they had a gallon and a half left on a 30ft trailer (I realize this has to do with how thick people were putting it on). Others also mention how the last half of the bucket was almost unusable because the catalyst was working to fast and it was beginning to set already.

My fifth wheel is 27-28ft long with one slide (does not have the EPDM covering).

What have your experiences been with using the Liquid Rubber? Did it thicken too quickly? Was there enough? What was the ideal temperature for applying it?

Should I go with the five gallon bucket? Or do you think that with my size of RV that I would be okay with 4 individual gallons that would be less likely to thicken too fast and give me some leeway on timing?

Hubby and I just finished a several week trip around Idaho Panhandle, Washington State and Oregon. During that trip we were questioning based on age or our A class being 2003 a few of our devices we use and rely on, and then our Splendide Washer/Dryer combo drum stopped turning which we need to repair resolve. Any suggestions on that much appreciated as well.

We also wondered if our 19 year old water pump might be getting near the end of life as it seemed a little less powerful on spraying the commode I felt. So to that end, do you long time RVers that use your rig often tend to replace items such as water pumps, water heaters, gate valves for grey and black and anything else before they actually need replacing/repairing OR ........ do you wait until these things actually fail and replace at that time?

Thanks for the input, and if you carry spares of anything what those might be with you.

I was helping a friend get her trailer ready after not using it for a few years. I filled the freshwater to show her how to work everything. It worked for about a minute then acted like it ran out of water. Upon further inspection the screen was plugged by the water pump. The tank looked clean from the outside. She was heading out that day on a weekend trip, so we filled some water jugs, and she used that for flushing and whatever. When she got back, I could see big black blotches stuck to the inside of the tank. I drained and removed the tank. It is full of black mold. I am not having any luck getting is out using the fill shake and dump method. I'm thinking new tank. Any suggestions?

Not to revive this thread, wanted to ask: what pellet grills do you recommend for camping? Apart from Traeger, which options do I have?
I'm cooking for 2-3 persons usually (also like the portability of the smaller grills), and I'd like to grill steaks, smoke ribs, and have a griddle for pancakes, veggies. Budget is about $500.
Have some options on my mind, but would like to hear from you first.

update: seems like almost everyone is happy with their Traeger's (unfortunately, it doesn't work for me - got one, used one, had to re-sell it), gladly there were other options mentioned as well. Forgot to add, that I've ordered a GMG since they had a nice discount, and now it's on it's way to me.

Looking for advice on which Faucet to hose initial water filter you use (sediment I guess?), to keep any main crud out of your pipework to FW tank. Also we have transported water in containers separately for drinking and cooking for years. This was after disconnecting the old under sink Shurflo Waterguard RV10 during winterising over 15 years plus ago, and would like to replace with something similar that would fit the holder and pipework (looks like a fridge/freezer filter line size wise).

In our Heartland Big Foot 2012 38ft M-3585RL 5th wheel, we have a stacked Maytag front load washing machine with dryer on top. They are located in the bedroom closet and in a very tight corner and trimmed/braced out to prevent movement. The washing machine is throwing codes which indicate the pump filter or trap is plugged. This filter/trap is recommended to be cleaned often and even every month is some cases. We see "no way" to reasonably move the dryer and washer out to access the back of the machine for removing the rear panel. This is the recommended way for access to clean the filter. The closet wood trim/steel bracing around the pair would have to be removed....the dryer removed and then the washer slid out. The bed is in the way and I can't see enough room for two people to gain enough access to reasonably lift the dryer off. And....where in the world would a person sit the dryer even after getting it out.

So.....in looking at the washer front panel in the manuals, I'm thinking there is room in the panel and I can cut an access hole in the panel of the washer to gain access to the filter/trap assembly without removing the dryer or washer. I was wondering if anyone has come up with a better process? Also....does anyone feel that cutting a access hole would weaken the washer front panel structurally. Some washers come with an access panel. This is apparently Maytag's entry level washer. I can trim a new hole with a rubber grommet and even put a cover of some sort over it? Any thoughts or advice is welcome! We bought this 5th wheel used in 2018 and it does not appear that the washer has ever been out or serviced. it looks brand new and the seller did use it as a fulltime rig for 2 years.
