	Greetings,
</p>

<p>
	Anyone stayed at the Boulder City, NV Elks Lodge recently? I am wondering how good the voltage is at the RV sites. We were there years ago and my notes say that voltage was extremely low bordering on my surge protector shutting down my electric. Wondered if anything has changed.
</p>

<p>
	Thanks,

	I have relatives that live near Stevensville, MT. a bit south of Lolo. They tell me it was 30+ years ago when they moved here from Minnesota . I know for most of that time I have wanted to visit and finally got that done this year.
</p>

<p>
	Was hoping to get a COE campground or something similar, but RecDOTGov game me no real options, so I chose this campground for a 2 night stay to be able to see if I could find something better. Have to say, I think this is the best option in the area. It's more costly than a COE, but I decided to spend a week here and am sad to be moving tomorrow.
</p>

<p>
	The staff here is so welcoming and are always out in the park either changing the sprinkler locations, picking up pine cones or gathering pine needles all in an effort to decrease the chance of fire in the park and for the esthetic factor. The shower and bath house while small is spotless and they also have free to use washers and clothesline . No Dryers and no hot water provided to the spotless washing machines.  There is an inside clothesline where the washing machines are located and then two outside lines. The drying is sure faster outside!!! I actually didn't mind doing laundry yesterday.
</p>

<p>
	Highway 12 up through Lolo canyon and Pass into Idaho was a very enjoyable motorcycle ride till I got near the location of one of the "Fires" and started smelling the smoke near Lowell, ID. It was time to turn around and head back. 110 miles each way. Much warmer on the Idaho side and I was glad to be back in Montana. Thankfully the smoke didn't follow.
</p>

<p>
	Have yet to decide if I will turn right or left when I leave the park and if North or South will come before East or West.

	I’d read the news on here about Sumter Oaks and Raccoon Mountain selling, but I’m not sure whether Turkey Creek’s sale has been posted here.  Apparently the sale closed last month.  The new owners are going to honor Escapees membership rates and existing reservations for a year.  They do plan improvements, so I’m sure over time rates will increase to justify those improvements plus the close proximity to downtown Branson.

	Back in December, 2010, we bought a Heartland mpg travel trailer as a learner. We were talking about becoming full-timers, so we found something fairly inexpensive that we could play with. The first night was at the dealer's place, just in case (their idea). In January, 2011, I had a long weekend off, and the weather guessers were predicting decent weather, so we hooked the mpg up to the SUV and headed to Turkey Creek RV Park, Hollister, MO. This is an Escapee-owned park. We weren't members of Escapees then, and declined the offer of membership to save a bit on the camping cost because we didn't know whether this would be something we really wanted to do.
</p>

<p>
	Over the years we've been back here a couple of times. It is a quiet park, close to College of the Ozarks (aka Hard Work U) and, of course, all that Branson has to offer. Yes, it is an older park, best suited for RVs that are not 45' long with four slides. The park is literally right on the water so flooding is always something to be considered during the rainy season. Most of the sites are back-in, and utilities run underground between the two rows of sites, so they can't really be turned into pull-thru sites.

	Recently we either visited or tried to visit three Escapees parks. We're full-timers with a winter base at The Ranch, the co-op in Lakewood, NM. We've been leaseholders for several years now.
</p>

<p>
	The first park we visited was Dream Catchers in Deming, NM. This is a pretty quiet park, with a mix of "permanent" residents and people who are passing through. Like other Escapees parks we've visited, they have Happy Hour on the schedule. We showed up at the appointed time and found we were the only ones who did. The manager said it is rare for anyone to come to Happy Hour there, or, for that matter, any of the social activities. Most people are only there for a night or two, on their way to somewhere else. Since the park is literally right at the exit from I-10, that's not surprising. There are some extra-long pull-through sites for those of us with longer rigs.
</p>

<p>
	The second park we visited was the SKP Saguaro Co-op in Benson, AZ. This is a large park with lots happening. We were there only for one night, and were assigned one of the two paved pull-through sites with full hookups. The other sites had no hookups. VERY different atmosphere from The Ranch. Lot prices are pretty high.
</p>

<p>
	The third park we wanted to visit was Rover's Roost, Casa Grande, AZ. Unfortunately, our trailer is 40' 9" long, so we are too long to visit there. This is also a co-op. We talked about visiting without the trailer, just to see what it was like, but our schedule didn't permit that. Maybe some other time.

	Santa Rosa Campground, New Mexico</p><p></p>

<p>
	My wife and I were really tired and pulled in here to get a site. This was the end of Sept., 2022. The manager was gruff initially and it only got worse. When asked about advertised discounts, ie GS, AAA, and so on, he stated "I only put them in to fool people like you". We were tired or we would have moved on at that point. We paid with our credit card and pulled down to the assigned site. The site was bare, not the advertised 50 amp, no space, very tight, in general, disagreeable! We did not pull in, but decided this was not the park for us and pulled back to the office.<br />
	I went into the office and told the same manager I was not staying and wanted my credit card credited. He responded with, "what’s wrong with the site", and I told him and he argued with me. I told him we did not find it satisfactory and want our money returned. His response was a short and abrupt, "NO". I asked what do you mean, NO, and he said "I am not returning your money, now get out of here"<br />
	We pulled out and parked next door and called the Santa Rosa, New Mexico Police Dept. for a police report. The Officers we were very nice and apologetic, and said he does this often and they get called many times for the same thing. The also informed me he is not the owner, but the on site manager, and the owners are hands off owners in another state.<br />
	We have filed a fraud charge with our bank to reclaim our money and are pursuing a number of other avenues to let others know of the crook in their midst. Please be informed in your travels.</p><p></p>

	My plans to stay near Sarasota FL for next winter season 2022/2023 are not looking good due to lack of availability.  I'm not even back to my summer location and most parks are already booked. Thinking that I may try the panhandle area instead. Maybe Pensacola or Panama City but I don't know the area. Looking for recommendations for RV parks in the above area. In the alternative, also considering going to the RGV area of TX.  Maybe Corpus Cristy or Mission. Any recommendations for those places would also be welcomed.

	WE are at Bryce and managed to grab a 3 day spoyt at Sunset CG inside the park.
</p>

<p>
	   A couple of comments about that. The sites are FF, They are mainly short in the RV loop with lots of trees that make getting into them very hard. Anything over 25 total length with have trouble. Maybe a couple will take a 30 FT. Tow has to fit in the suit too. Gen hours 8-10 AM and 6 to 8 PM
</p>

<p>
	Surveyed two boondock ares outside the park
</p>

<p>
	   Cabin Hollow has VERY rough road once you get past the first couple of sites. There are openings mainly of vans and Class C because of the road.
</p>

<p>
	The next road down, not sure of name, towards BCNP with the Prairie Dogs site has a good road and quite a few empty spots today. Over 10 open we did not go all the way back
</p>

<p>
	There is another road that we checked out last lime, past the second one about with many sites.
</p>

<p>
	These roads are headed north? Away from the Bryce entrance any way. My sense of direction gets screwed up around here,
</p>

<p>
	There is another paved road on the other side that goes way back and has good but limited designated spots only.
</p>

I would prefer a 55+ park that has a pool, hot tub, pickleball quarts and activities like cards and Bingo. I have a 40’ 5ver. I would even rent from an owner as I have come across communities like that across the country. Feel free to post it up or message me if you want to tell me about a hidden unknown gem.

	On there website it states that owners can comeback with 8 days notice to claim the lot you are renting. There was a review saying that they had to move a couple of times. Do they leave spots open incase owners want to come back? Just seems very strange to me. If you put your lot in the pool to be rented and it gets booked that owners can change their mind with 8 days notice. If the park is booked, you would find yourself homeless. I looked at their site map and do not clearly see the few lake sites as they seemed to by owned by the park, so you don’t have the risk of being kicked out of that site. Thanks for any thoughts, experiences and words of wisdom.

		I posted this in the boondocking section first, but it appears it's more appropriate on this forum.   For six years, ending in 2005, I roamed the country staying almost exclusively in flying J's overnight.  I never had a problem and was never turned away.  I don't know if it's still the case. Can anyone advise?  Are Flying Js and other truck stops such as TA and Pilot still open to RV ONP?
	</p>

	<p>
		I've read a little bit about potential problems at truck stops now, which  didn't exist before.  One thing I read is the truckers now resent RVs because new driving rules requiring rest periods make the truck stops more congested.  At the time most flying Js had  RV parking in front and truck parking in the rear.  Since my rig with trailer was 64 feet overall, I always parked in the rear with trucks.  I also found rear areas to be quieter.  There would often be parties and a lot of traffic out front, while the guys in back were just interested in sleeping.  If you don't mind the sound of the refrigerators running it wasn't a big deal..
