donf888 Posted August 14, 2013 Report Share Posted August 14, 2013 We are finishing up our short, check-up visit with Henry & Davena -- we are safely ensconsed at Crow's Nest in Newport, NH (down in the wide-open, FHU sites below the upper/main hook-up sites, and prior to the road leading into the river/forest sites... staying out of harm's way while they pack their moving truck the next couple days. We both plan to depart on Thurs -- we head north to Maritimes for a couple weeks, they down to FL and their new home in PSL. On (or just after) Labor Day, we can get hook-up sites and visit our son in NYC for a week or so. Our primary objective was 5th wheel shopping and it looks like we have already found the trailer we want. Is the show worth attending if we are not looking for a trailer to buy? I am going to try to come to the National Rally, but won't be able to bring the truck and trailer. Several reasons for that, including that I will still be a NY resident and I don't have a Class A CDL to legally drive the combination. So I will fly out, rent a car, and stay in a motel. I really want to learn as much as I can before we head out full timing. Staying in Kennebec, SD overnight then pressing on toward Hart Ranch, Mt Rushmore, Mike and Pat McFalls, Devil's tower, Tetons, Craters of the Moon, Glacier NP. Eventually we should end up on the Southern Oregon coast after going through Astoria on the way. No hurry. Lincoln Road RV Park is roomy but it is mostly DIY when it comes to anything needing office or staff. Not a bad thing but i have not found out how to get propane tanks refilled, here. Office hours are sporadic... like fishing in a high wind.... maybe catch'em.. maybe not. Enjoy the Rally, guys. Maybe next year. Will head to SpaceCraft in Concordia in the morning. Hope to take lots of photos of the progress so far. Bringing the cooktop and the ramp attachment to be mounted below the garage door. Not sure how long I will stay, guess it depends on if they are doing something I want to see. Don't want to do the KC afternoon traffic so might just wait until Saturday morning to make the trip across to Hutch. Looking forward to seeing everyone again.
