Chalkie
Nice install! That antenna mount is a little too pricey for me but it does look nice.
filthy-beast
thanks. Yes, they are very proud of that piece of AL with a cable attached😀 However, being a brand new truck I decided to get it for the ease of install and clean look. Cable runs through same hole as cables for the lights. It goes in above the headliner and then an easy run down the side pillar to the radio. Chalkie
I've been grappling with where to put my radio ever since I got the current truck a couple of years ago. No offense to your install but that just wouldn't work for me. For one the vents are completely different and I have always liked having the mic and control head on the right. I finally decided just recently to modify one of the drop down sunglasses holders in the overhead as the mounting point and will run an extension via Cat5 for the mic to be on the right side of the steering column. The radio itself will be behind the back seat as well. I'll post a couple of pics when I get it done. Haven't been in a big hurry, just working on it a bit in between other "stay home" projects. filthy-beast
Yeah, I'm left handed. Your install plan sounds like great location for the head unit. I use Proclips, I'm a big fan and have used them in all kinds of vehicles over the years. For 2016 they have a bunch of dash mounts, I used one of these in my 2015 with the round vents https://www.proclipusa.com/vehicle/dashboard-mounts/ford-f-350/2016 Quote 2020 Platinum F350 6.7L CC DRW, 2021 Riverstone Legacy 37mre 5th wheel
Chalkie
Those look nice but I already have Spigen magnetic phone mounts there on both sides for our phones. 🤔 Edited May 5, 2020 by Chalkie My poor eyes did not see what emoji I posted.
