Some Military Campgrounds/FamCamps close due to COVID-19

If you are scheduled to stay at a military campground or Famcamp or even considering it in the next couple of months, do call ahead and see if they are still taking campers.  Several are now no longer taking reservations and are cancelling reservations for those that have not yet checked in.  Larry Farquhar (USAF Retired) has a good discussion going on about it on the U.S. Military Campgrounds and RV Parks website he owns and runs.

Yep. We were scheduled for JB Charleston (Foster Creek) starting 14 April. They just called to tell us they were going to have to cancel our reservation and refund our money. I'm working on checking out what this all means for the rest of the summer - Kings Creek in VA and APG in Maryland. It's a roller-coaster these days.

A side note to this is, China has re-opened factories and nearly all business's, and getting back to a normal lifestyle. It's been 8 weeks since they announced the virus. Hopefully we will see the same time-frame.

That was on CNBC radio today.

The US has not, nor are we likely to, institute the draconian measures that were taken by the Chinese government. Those measures likely had a significant impact on stopping the spread of the virus. We still have young people flocking to the beaches for spring break and certainly not practicing "social distancing."

Yep, China really leveled the curve.

We drove through the/our nearby city yesterday. The main North/Southbound streets were devoid of moving vehicles when we turned onto them. Gave me a creepy feeling.

One FL city closed their beaches, restaurants and bars. They widely advertised it to all colleges that are on break that week. That will be disastrous to local business, as most say what they earn during the winter carries them though the warm months.

An aside, This video makes it seem Bill Gates predicted this virus outbreak:

At that age we thought we were invulnerable. We didn't know enough to be scared of being sent to Viet Nam. Why would these kids be scared of COVID-19. Isn't that an old folks disease?

California governor Gavin Newsom just ordered all Californians to stay at home.https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/california-gov-gavin-newsom-orders-all-californians-to-stay-at-home/ar-BB11qBbf

That could trigger a snowball effect.

An aside, Italy surpassed China in total deaths.
