chiefneon
Howdy! I’ve been using a Reece Goose Box to tow my Cyclone 4000 but I don’t tow it with a HDT. Check out the FaceBook group “GooseBox owners group”. They have a lot of followers and may provide you with useful information. I’ve been using the GB 20,000 lb for a year and would not go back to a 5er hitch. ” Happy Trails “ Chiefneon Quote "Class of 2007 Fulltimer's" Gary & karen Smoochie & Michaela (fur babies) 2018 Chevorlet 3500 HD/LTZ 2L Custom Hauler 2014 Heartland Cyclone 4000 2016 Smart Car Prime
Consolenut
you need an air ride hitch from trailer saver or ET hitches. the 5th wheel will never be heavy enough to spring the suspension on the tractor. it will beat the frame of the 5ver to death. cracked welds etc. the goosebox isnt enough absorbtion period
dlcarsonak
Consolenut is right. Add Mountain Master to the list of air hitches Quote Glyn (KL0PG) & Diane Carson2002 I-H 4400 Papa's Dream (Mama's Nightmare)2015 Space Craft V400Furkid Maxemail: dlcarsonak@hotmail.com
rickeieio
X3 on the above comments. Air ride hitch isn't that expensive, considering how it allows the trailer to "float". We towed with the commercial fifth wheel for two years. When we went to the air hitch, we couldn't believe how things in the trailer "stayed put". We bought a used Trailer Saver with the third bag. Out toy hauler is about the same size and weight as yours, and it handles if well. Oh, you can put a goose neck ball on an air hitch too. The Jackalopee is a worthwhile investment, and very easy to install. BTW, nice truck! noteven
Nice T660 is it a 5 passenger model? RV’n trailers are a bit flimsy compared to heavy truck grade trailers so air hitch suspension and oscillation is good. Another option is an air suspension ball hitch on the tractor... But a kingpin/fifth wheel is nice for hooking up vs ball hitches... Also reduce the psi’s in the drive tires on the truck to minimum allowable by the manufacturer for your load and cruising speed - tires are part of the suspension unless they are over inflated for the load. My KW single drive weighs around 10500lbs on the drive axle with the toyhauler loaded and full water and I run 11R22.5 tires at 70psi. Quote "Are we there yet?" asked no motorcycle rider, ever.
