It's been a few years since I put an ammeter to one, but I remember an 11,000 btu a/c unit pulling over 17 amps at start up. I was putting a soft start on it so I could use it with my Honda 2000. My current 15,000 btu Brisk Air 2 is rated at 13.2 for the compressor and 2.7 for the fan at normal operating. That's rated at 125 volts. Drop the voltage to what you see in lot's of campgrounds and you're going to be using even more. Starting amps on a hot day will be highest. I'm not an electrician, so I will yield to those who are, but I think it's a stretch to say nothing in an rv takes more than 15 amps. Quote Everybody wanna hear the truth, but everybody tell a lie. If you consider the starting currents and all RVs, that is certainly not a valid statement. Quote Good travelin !...............KirkFull-time 11+ years...... Pappy Yokum
"Majestic" brand (Thor) is the normal "re-badge" when it's time to end the RV's rental life by Cruise America. (Cr Am removes the rental graphics, it then "becomes" a "Majestic") Nothing wrong with that - usually Cruise America goes completely thru the RV. The OP didn't say how (private party, dealer?) he acquired the RV. Google: "Majestic RV". On edit: Current re-sales are 2015 and 2016 models. So unfortunately, any Cruise America warranty is long gone. BTW - you can find happy owners of the re-sale units on various forums. ~ Edited November 4, 2019 by Pappy Yokum Update - (on edit)
