Jim1521
I posted this in another RV forum. Looking for input. OK, the loan is approved and now it's time for insurance. I am currently with Progressive for the following:1. 2016 Ford F350 truck2. 2018 Nissan Armada3. 2016 Grand Design 313RLTS4. 2016 SeaDoo 165 GTi5. 2012 Bennington 24SSLWe are full-timing, new fifth wheel arriving mid-October. Clean driving record, great FICO score, based in FL (really). Who would you guys recommend going with? I'm not married to Progressive by any means.Should I consider an independent agent? Twotoes
Get a quote from Geico. I am fulltime in So Dakota and Geico saved me a lot of $$$. I have my Class A, Jeep Wrangler, Harley, an umbrella and 3 rental properties with them. They saved us some money and also paid for a new awning that was damaged by a thunderstorm...and paid off very quickly!
whj469
I am with Progressive because they were the cheapest I could find and I have read very good reviews on their claims process.
harley-dave
We switch back and forth between Progressive and Geico depending on who offers a better deal at renewal. Both have given us good service processing claims. Have multiple vehicles insured with both most of the time. Dave
FL-JOE
Two years ago we got quotes from several. National General was by far the cheapest for us (through Good Sams). This year it went up $3 for the entire annual premium, and that was after having a $3,700 claim last year. We are obviously both FL residents but your zip code and many other factors can effect your quote. It might take them a few days to get back with you, due to Dorian. IIRC, underwriters wait a certain amount of time before they begin writing policies following a hiurricane. I called them today, went through the numbers but they couldn’t beat the current Progressive coverage that I have. I also contacted an independent agent in Port St. Joe, FL and she basically said the same thing; she’s writing a lot of Progressive policies as they’re the cheapest around. That is what is so strange about the insurance industry, everyone's price seems to be so different for sometimes the same coverage and in the same state. The bottom line is finding the best coverage for your needs at the lowest possible price. Sounds like Progressive will work for you. We have them for everything but the RV and have been very happy with them. Our Mini Cooper is in the body shop right now for close to $6,000 in hail damage. The way Progressive has handled the claim so far is top notch. I pay for my insurance annually and it's due. I shopped around and no one can beat progressive with the current coverage or even less coverage than I currently have. Another year with progressive. We will try again next year. James Quote 2024 GMC 3500HD DRW Denali Diesel 2019 Keystone Avalanche 396BH USN Retired

whj469
I would think that insurance would be cheaper in SD as compared with Florida but I would much prefer Florida. Good Luck
