dewilso
Is there a "standard" for propane quick disconnects, or are they like cell phone charging cables where they won’t play well with each other? Danandfreda
Hard to find at local stores I couldn’t even get them at local propane filling places. Amazon has them all I replaced the hose on out gas propane grill so I could run it off our outside quick disconnect propane line under the rv. Just had to take off the second regulator. Rv stores didn’t even have them. Lowes has the female fitting I think but not the male.
agesilaus
Don't know about propane disconnects but industrial tubing disconnects are manufacturer specific since I bought a number of them over the years. I suspect the propane ones are the same.
bobsallyh
I got mine at local propane suppliers when I had the hoses made up. I think they are set up for the very low pressure which comes from the regulator. Mine has a ball valve shut off with a handle on it. The handle will not open if the quick disconnect is not in the fitting properly and the whole way.
dewilso
I know where to get them, they are pretty common items. But the question is if I get a brand Y from Wally, will it fit the brand B from Ace ? My experience is “usually”, but the Buddy item FE doesn’t work with others. Quote Dave W. I do believe that you have your answer. There are also quality differences from one manufacturer to the next. Quote Good travelin !...............KirkFull-time 11+ years...... Ronbo
If you are looking for the barbecue connection, go to a RV center. Be aware they are not all the same. I replaced my coupler and could not get gas to flow. The new valve required a longer nipple.
