SWharton Posted May 27, 2019 Report Share Posted May 27, 2019 We have DNS-East. We are in Canada and have not brought up our Traveler for a week+ or so due to trees. Today we brought it up and are missing Some HD stations, not all. When we ran a system test Directv said we were out of alignment? All 3 satellites peak and some HD comes through, not the DNS ones or 624(Olympic). We chatted with Directv and they said we needed to get our satellite realigned. We are to lazy right now to bring out the tripod and setup for 1 night. Question: Are we really out of alignment? Is it becaue we are in Canada(near Dawson Creek)? It should adjust it's skew, etc. as part of it's aiming procedure. We've used our Trav'ler several times while being in Canada and have never gotten that message. However, we sometimes have experienced problems with some of the HD stations.. One thing you can try is to "unhide" the SD duplicates and see if you can get all the stations in SD. The Ku band signal from the 101 satellite is typically less affected by the low angle and long signal path than is the Ka band signal used by the 99 and 103 satellites. If the weather was overcast or stormy we inevitably had to resort to watching in SD. SWharton Posted May 28, 2019 Author Report Share Posted May 28, 2019 (edited) Joel, We have done that so we are OK. This message comes up when you run the system test, not when you are looking at TV. We looked at the transponders and we had one set of 50's which must be the DNS HD stations. The general consensus seems to be Canada and the low satellite. We aren't going to do anything with this until we get back to Phoenix in Nov. Hopefully, once in the lower 48 TV will be back to normal.
