Exile
Trying to buff aluminum radiator, and found it has rock dings in it, with little sharp raised areas around the dings. The sharp peices destroy my buffing wheel in my pathetic attempt to buff my aluminum. Can i buff these out with a 250 grit flap wheel? (One time event, not once a month) then use some brown or white compound? i am an aluminum newbie. I can break things that are broken, but making things pretty is not my forte. and what about using same flap wheel to clean up rims? thank you for your combined knowledge. 98 379 with 12.7 DD LG Dodge w/5.9 CTD Chrome habit I’m trying to kick. Darryl&Rita
250 is pretty aggressive for what you're doing. Hand powered, just where the rock pits are, should be safe. I have been wrong before, I'll probably be wrong again. 2000 Kenworth T 2000 w/N-14 and 10 speed Gen1 Autoshift, deck built by Star Fabrication 2006 smart fourtwo cdi cabriolet 2007 32.5' Fleetwood QuantumPlease e-mail us here. beemergary
Too be real nice have sand one way working up to 2000-2500 grit. 3M polishing compound-same as used on paint also workd great on aluminum. I just da-ed my fuel tanks because the dings where just too deep. If you don't get the dings out the polishing will just make them stand out more.
