50th wedding anniversary

We are rushing it a little, but you will agree for a good reason. Our 50th is in August and for the 25th anniversary the Old Goat bought his betrothed a blue Miata. The Miata arrived with a custom licence plate "D & H +25" issued by the State of New Hampshire. Last week the betrothed became an owner of another automobile with a Florida license plate which will say "D & H +50.

She actually let me take it for a "spin" today before the polar vortex makes it to Florida.

Speaking of polar vortex it did have an impact on Florida too. My cousin and I had to put on flannel shirts to enjoy the convertible ride, it was down to 69 this afternoon.

Speaking of rushing the anniversary, August is not a good month for convertibles in Florida they all have the tops up with air conditioning going full blast, this is the time for convertibles.

Dang Henry, for our 25th, I took Susan back to Viagra Falls, no Miata.  Now you've set the bar rather high for the 50th.

Congratulations.

Hmmmmmm..........so perhaps I might take a few clues from you Henry & Crew.......

Some years ago Dollymama decided to ride Dolly at the central Oregon coast at one of the longest sand beaches at Wakonda Beach Airstrip so we purchased the East side of the Airport and needed some........"home-care-Items" for her anniversary..........you know like a 9K mini-excavator.......F750 5-yard dump truck..........Bobcat Skidsteer.........ALL match-painted in her fav-colors...........

Here is some X-pert-Advice..........when you buy your wife a 1963 F-750 Five-Yard-Dump Truck for her anniversary.......buy one with POWER STEERING.........she drove it very well but turning it at 30,000 lbs  was not always an option..........

Drive on.............(Power steering is always a good.........anniversary option)

Our 50th comes this September. My plans are to take the woman who has been taking care of me all this time, out to dinner. I'm thinking mickey d's, through the drive through and eat in our truck. At least that's what I tell people when they ask what I'm going to do for the 50th.

Henry,  HAPPY 50th ANNIVERSARY !!   I know it's not until August but I may forget it by then.  know Davina will enjoy her new ride......and she will certainly look much better in it than you and your cousin. We are in Melbourne, Fl and  wearing flannel shirts some days, too.                                                                                                                                If you get near Melbourne in the next couple of months, give me a calll. I would love to hear about any new projects that you are working on and hear some more of your tales.     Charlie Lord      eight 64 nine 06 zero 756

Congratulations. Now let us know what she got you. Our 40th is this May. We are going to the U.K. in July.

We are thinking a cruise (maybe Panama Canal).

10th Anniversary we took a Carnaval cruise, 25th, see got the Miata, 50th, we were "hinting" to our kids that for our Golden Anniversary perhaps they could "organize" another cruise for the oldsters. Since their silence (on the subject) is deafening we are thinking that spending some of their "inheritance" will rectify that.

I would love to do the Panama Canal. Maybe for our 50th.

The Panama Canal is a must!  If you enjoy engineering it's a must see.  And to know that this was built over 100 years ago.  We have made two complete passages and will do a partial (into Lake Gatun) and turn around this coming March.

Do it!

Wow, she had to drive a Miata for 25 years before you ponied up for a new one?  Better sell more hitches!  :)

No, Miata lasted only 10 years, to be replaced by something better.

She found that fifth, which required that I build her this truck (and design an ET to do it)

Just so that you don't get an impression that this is a "one way relationship", she didn't say a thing when I brought one of these home,

and turn it into something more useful after three years in the garage.

Hot damned that was almost a half a century ago, no gut and everything worked good.
