Chad Heiser
Just make sure the water heater doesn’t get turned on (either gas or electric) and you will be fine.  Of course you won’t have any hot water available.  You should be able to independently control your water heater.  When it is bypassed (no water in it) leave it turned off. 2000 Kenworth T2000 w/ Cummins N14 and autoshift 2017 DRV Mobile Suite 40KSSB4 with factory mods, dealer mods and personal mods - now in the RV graveyard 2022 DRV Full House MX450 with customized floor plan 2018 Polaris RZR Turbo S (fits in the garage) 2016 Smart Car (fits in the garage or gets flat towed behind the DRV when the RZR is in the garage)My First Solar Install ThreadMy Second Solar Install Thread & Photos and Documents Related to the buildMy MX450's solar, battery and inverter system - my biggest system yet! chadheiser.com    West Coast HDT Rally Website
sandsys
My water heater had its own circuit breaker. If yousr is on its own breaker just make sure that breaker is off and you'll have no worries. First of all, welcome to the Escapee forums! We are happy to have you here and will do all that we can to assist you and support you. It is a bad thing to operate the water heater with the tank empty if that is what you are asking. The water heater controls operate on 12V-DC power from your battery system and will not cause a problem but if you turn on the electric heaters that power from 120V-AC electric power that can do damage if left that way for too long. A few minutes probably won't damage anything and it there is water in the tank the most it might do is to cause water to drain from the pressure relief valve. I hope that some of this has been helpful. Let us know if there is anything more that we can do. Good travelin !...............KirkFull-time 11+ years...... Captain Happy
Do not operate the water heater if it's empty, either on gas or electric, period.
