waterheater bypass

Just make sure the water heater doesn’t get turned on (either gas or electric) and you will be fine.  Of course you won’t have any hot water available.  You should be able to independently control your water heater.  When it is bypassed (no water in it) leave it turned off.

😎 if my water heater is bypassed will it damage it if I turn on electricity? h have a Jayco flight 127 RD. an i'm at a full hookup site.

First of all, welcome to the Escapee forums! We are happy to have you here and will do all that we can to assist you and support you.

It is a bad thing to operate the water heater with the tank empty if that is what you are asking. The water heater controls operate on 12V-DC power from your battery system and will not cause a problem but if you turn on the electric heaters that power from 120V-AC electric power that can do damage if left that way for too long. A few minutes probably won't damage anything and  it there is water in the tank the most it might do is to cause water to drain from the pressure relief valve.

I hope that some of this has been helpful. Let us know if there is anything more that we can do.
