I'm saving up to buy an Alaskan.  I've got 20 grand put aside so far, and think I'll have enough to pay cash for one in a year, year and a half.  I can't wait!

I haven't been able to find any Alaskan Owner's forums, but there's a forum called Wander the West that seems to MAINLY be a Truck Camper forum, and there is a sub-forum there devoted to Alaskans.  Seems to be a pretty good resource.
