Exterior trim

Recommended Posts

My Teton has a trim that molds badly. Also is shrinking. Pulling away at corners. Really believe orginal owner replaced it with inferior trim. Considering replacing. Really hurts appearance. What would you guys recommend.

I will later. At work sheltering in tent from storm. It is trim that fits in a channel that goes around door and a flatter one that separates gelcoat from aluminum bottom. It is soft like vinal.

If the channel is about 5/8 - 3/4" wide and pretty shallow , I think you might be talking about the 'bump' trim that covers the screws .

I replaced all that covering on our Monaco . The original was so ingrained with years of dirt and such , the only way to make it look decent would have been to scrape a layer off .

Anyway , the OEM stuff was a lot thicker and definitely of better quality than what I found and used . But , it's just a cover and doesn't need to be HD . The new stuff I put on looks just as good as OEM and it's clean . ;)

Goes around , comes around .

That's it. Mine bout an inch wide. Ok. I had never remembered anyone posting about replacing it. Thanks

Take a look at the pics on this page . They show the difference . I figured the stuff is cheap enough and easy enough to install that even if it only lasted a few years it was worth it .
