noteven
I’ve got a project file going to develop rv wheel house armour made out of enriched titanium A12-47D so blown tires can flail all they like without destroying $12,478 worth a wiring and kitchen cubbards. "Are we there yet?" asked no motorcycle rider, ever.
JPL
noteven i planed on putting a set of shields over my wheels just to prevent the issues you are talking about. Our current 5er came with some shielding and a blowout didn't cause any floor damage. Containment is the cure! i made some idea dwg's myself. may at some point upgrade.I would hve payed extra for a installed upgrade from the factory if it were avb. Oh well. leave it to the consumer to do there engineering. PM me if you want. Pat The Old Sailor
noteven
Pat - my rag tag toyhauler came to us with some damage to the wheel houses from blowouts of “ST” tires. Carriage used a pretty heavy gauge tin but it got roughed up. I got some salvage insulated overhead door panels and sawed them up to fit and installed them with some fabricated angle iron brackets etc. If a tire clobbers them there is half a chance damage will be less. The tires can just rub a bit if the Mor/ryde suspension caterpillars over a very high stupid speed bump in a parking lot. They’ve never touched on or off road that I can tell. I watch for fresh marks in the regular grime. "Are we there yet?" asked no motorcycle rider, ever.
