Mark and Dale Bruss
Is setting the Skew for proper polarization still the challenge? That was the issue with the old HughesNet Dish. That was the issue with the old HughesNet Dish. Nope. Both HughesNET Gen 5 VAR/Mobile dishes (.98 M & .90 M) are round -- no skew needed. The only time you use skew is with the larger .98 M dish -- if the sat elevation < 45 degrees, then you have to rotate the dish so it won't hit the tripod mount. Left or right hand polarization is determined during setup when you enter your current GPS coordinates via the sat modem. The modem returns vales for AZ, EL, skew (even though you don't use it), and also polarization. If you need to change polarization, then you just "flip" (rotate) the LNB head during setup.
