JRP
Depends on the direction of your next destination. Since I was always coming from or going to the SW from I80, I preferred to get off before SLC and use Provo Canyon hiway 189. If you need to stay on I-80 to go into northern NV then just time it to avoid the worst of SLC rush hour, and be prepared for the steep decline going down from Parleys Summit. I'd also check the UT DOT site, I've heard there is a major construction project underway near Parleys Summit adding another truck lane. not how much impact that's having on traffic. Kirk W
Traveling westbound on I-80, the I-215 bypass to the south will cut the time and traffic if the plan is to go south on I-15 and prefer the interstates. US189 is much more scenic and doesn't take a lot longer but it is being built up slowly. I too usually go the 189 route. If continuing west on I-80, I really don't know of any practical alternate routes. Good travelin !...............KirkFull-time 11+ years......
