Actually, I suggest allowing several days to see this museum.  It has grown so large that a day hardly covers anything (at least not if you like aviation history,)

the only campground I know of that is reasonably close and nice is the KOA which is west of Dayton on I 70 near Brookville Ohio. Easy drive to museum and kid friendly campground. While in Dayton area be sure to visit Corrillian Park (sp).

This is just an idea. Check the area around Xenia, Ohio. This town is east of the Air Force base on Rt.35. You will need a couple of days to see the museum. A lot to see.
