Brad NSW
Simple. Was titled and registered in Minn as a Motor Home. Looked up a VIN verifier in San Diego. Took it in, told them I wanted it registered as a MH. They filled some forms out, took the Minn paperwork and then registered at DMV. 2010 Freightliner, DD15 Eaton Ultrashift, 2015 New Horizons 5th Wheel. This was the one scenario that had not been done since Brakken Tax and License stopped acting as the conduit for HDT Motorhome title conversions in CA (at least no one would admit to doing it on the forum). I know of a couple of in state sales of previously converted titles since then, but this is the first out of state conversion brought into CA. I was hoping it would work as you described and I am glad it did for you. There is a lot going on with CA HDT/Motorhome registrations that throws kinks into the works. 2000 Kenworth T2000 w/ Cummins N14 and autoshift 2017 DRV Mobile Suite 40KSSB4 with factory mods, dealer mods and personal mods - now in the RV graveyard 2022 DRV Full House MX450 with customized floor plan 2018 Polaris RZR Turbo S (fits in the garage) 2016 Smart Car (fits in the garage or gets flat towed behind the DRV when the RZR is in the garage)My First Solar Install ThreadMy Second Solar Install Thread & Photos and Documents Related to the buildMy MX450's solar, battery and inverter system - my biggest system yet! chadheiser.com West Coast HDT Rally Website

Maybe its a sign that you should retire and build your dream daily driver I wish. The California registration may be a moot point for me after I retire anyway. I'm not sure how long I'll stay in California after that. We'll see. I would at least like to get a more functional bed for my current truck if nothing else. It could really use some storage and I have some "ideas" for a Drom/Motorcycle storage box.

Thanks Dan. Dena put the your Minnesota plates in the mail today. We know you and Bree-Ann were attached to your "Yeti". We appreciate all the care you put into its maintenance, the driving lesson, and all the tips you gave us.
