I'm late to the conversation but have you considered the Four Wheel Campers Flat bed models?

Depending on the truck built on can keep the price considerably lower than the full blown 4x4 RVs.

I am in a smaller FWC and can say they are truly go anywhere as well as the larger models are well equipped for full time.

We did 4-wheeling with our Jeep on the trails of Silverton, CO and Moab, UT.  Trucks - even 4-wheel - could not go everywhere a Jeep could go. We've seen some bad incidents where folks think they can go on a trail when they shouldn't be there.

Sorry for the long time between replies.  Yes, underneath the Revel is somewhat fragile just like any other RV, and that's why I had a RIP (Road Improvement Package) from Agile Off-Road installed, along with larger tires.  That combination increased the ground clearance by 3-4".  No more clearance problems!

I just seen one at the travel show in Lincoln Ne. Very impressive.  Price tag was right at that 100k mark.
