KnoxSwift
I'm late to the conversation but have you considered the Four Wheel Campers Flat bed models? https://fourwh.com Depending on the truck built on can keep the price considerably lower than the full blown 4x4 RVs. I am in a smaller FWC and can say they are truly go anywhere as well as the larger models are well equipped for full time.
2gypsies
We did 4-wheeling with our Jeep on the trails of Silverton, CO and Moab, UT. Trucks - even 4-wheel - could not go everywhere a Jeep could go. We've seen some bad incidents where folks think they can go on a trail when they shouldn't be there. Yes, underneath the Revel is somewhat fragile just like any other RV, and that's why I had a RIP (Road Improvement Package) from Agile Off-Road installed, along with larger tires. That combination increased the ground clearance by 3-4". No more clearance problems! I just seen one at the travel show in Lincoln Ne. Very impressive. Price tag was right at that 100k mark.
