What kind of wrench?

Are you sure it is a bolt and not a plastic push in rivet that just pops out?

They are huck bolts and unless you want to buy the special tools to remove them (collar cutters), a torch or cutoff wheel is the easiest way to take them off. Just split the collar on each side and use a hand or air chisel to finish taking off the collar. The bolt will knock out after that.

Try heavy duty socket 3/4 inch breaker bar and a 6 foot piece of 11/4 inch pipe for a cheeter bar . it will break them loose  or break them off. If that don't work split them with a cut wheel on a penut grinder.

What socket would you use? The head of the bolt is round and the nut side is a slick cone shape. The only way to get a huck bolt off is to break the collar by splitting it or cutting it. For a look at how they are installed, take a look at two animations. One is for a bulb type huck bolt and the other is for a cone style collar.

Have had truck for three years. been that long ago since I removed the commercial fifth wheel don't recal exact size of socket. But I do remember I cracked a couple of sockets before I went to a heavy duty socket. Took about 2 hours to remove hitch.I don't own a torch .Just a socket, breaker bar, 6ft pipe, and a cut wheel.

Use a 22 and a 30 deep socket for the 13 & 16 sizes if I remember right.  But that is for the old Huck-Fit.  Those noisy friggen things finally left my life in 2006.  The Bobtails (the rivet head ones) you gotta slice as close as you can on the collar (nut) flange.  Don't use a plasma.  If there is water between the collar and the bolt will f-up your torch bad.  Cost me a bunch of $. :(

I tried 3 different spellings and could not even get close enough for the spell checker to fix it.

We call them a "Blue tipped wrench".  AKA - Oxygen/Acetylene with cutting tip.  Just watch that hot slag doesn't land on an air line.  Don't ask me how I know that .
