Is this a Farmall H? I was just curious...I spent a summer on my college campus mowing lawns, and I pulled a 3-gang reel mower with a Farmall B for the bigger areas. My dad was an Allis-Chalmers fan...we had a 1937 WC, a WD, and his favorite, a 1954 WD 45.

Looks like an "H", early '40s?  Of the many red tractors we had, I don't remember an H. And we never let one get ripe enough to turn purple.

Yes it is an H, 1941 model. My dad & uncle bought this from the neighbor in 1961, the year I was born so I've got many hours in that seat.

Not exactly sure , but , that doesn't seem like the stock color .

Just about the prettiest tractor I've seen , tho . ;)

Thanks! I know that's not the stock color, some purist get downright upset about it, i'm pretty sure it wasn't even an optional color..... although if you had enough money?????? :-)

1941 H to be exact. It wasn't quite ripe enough yet, it was still "patina" I had to put it in a big brown paper bag for a while and let it ripen.

There's gotta' be a story here....

Yes, there's a story....I'll try to give you the short version. This tractor I originally restored to it's factory colors. It won many awards, was on TV, some calendars, magazines, newspapers, ETC. After 10 years or so I decided it needed a purpose, so, in my hometown during October we have a potato festival. My adopted mother & my biological mother both died from breast cancer and since Oct is breast cancer awareness month we decided cancer was it's purpose. The night before the parade, my wife mixed some red & white latex house paint so we could paint pink ribbons on the side......I was holding a flashlight as she painted saying " this will come off my tractor won't it". It was a huge hit so we were going to paint it pink...ugh. Luckily we got involved with Relay For Life and found out that purple was the color for all cancers & survivors. I'm a 35 year survivor so it just made since to go with purple and the rest is history. The tractor is very popular wherever we go, kids of all ages love getting on it and if we're at an event that will allow it, we let people drive it too. So far we've raised quite a bit of money for the ACS & other cancer organizations.....and huge amounts of awareness, given thousands of hugs, shared many tears.....both happy and sad.

That's cool. I've got a 41 M that my grandfather bought new 3 months before he died. It was the first tractor on the farm, I'm going to deliver it to my nephew soon.

Old tractors seem to be lurking about.  Likely because farmers hang on to things, thinking they might need them later......

I have a 1949 Super A that my grandpa bought new. My cousins have an F-12 and a Farmall 10-20 that their grandpa also bought new. All of them run, but the A is they only one to be used regularly.

Oddly enough, my wife and I saw a store today called "The Pink Tractor".

I am not sure I would want to be the one riding that tractor up a set  of ramps (three?) to put that on a bed 40" plus in the air and I imagine going backwards off would have to be just as bad! I wonder if Henry can design you a tractor lift like the smart car lift beds!

If you stand it on end like the tractors in the movie "Cars", you could keep your bed length shorter!

Right now the plan is to dovetail & load from the back, use a winch to pull it on backward. Currently I haul it on a 28" high equipment trailer with 2 ramps......loading & unloading at an angle....... it makes DW nervous to watch.
