Macerator pump all the time

For those that use a macerator pump hard mounted, how does the washer drain work? On my Teton, the washer does not drain into the gray tank, but direct to the discharge tube. How would the macerator pump work in this situation?

The water will freeflow through the macerator pump as long as nothing floats in to obstruct the discharge and if the discharge hose is lower than your rv. If you have a grey water tank open then the water can back into that tank

I have a bypass built around my macerator. So I leave the grey open, black closed and the bypass open. This is normal operation, and the water flows around. To macerate the black I simply close the bypass and the grey and open the macerator shutoff....

Thanks Jack. This was the idea in my head, but glad to know it’s been done. Thinking hard of going this route.
