masterdrago
Okay folks, looking at a Forest River Cedar Creek Champagne Edition. Tires say Westlake 215/75R 17.5 load range H 16 ply 135/133J. So looking at the Westlake pages -- http://www.westlaketire.ca/products/cr960a-2/ I find speed rating J 62mph, single max load 4806# @123psi. The other 215/75R 17.5 is a 14 ply load index/speed rating 126/124M max load 3748 @110psi. Am I reading right that the 14 ply has an M speed rating making it 81mph from the chart at http://www.tiresplus.com/tires/tire-buying-guide/tire-speed-rating/ 1st Time RVer 2018 Montana 3791RD, 2018 Ram 3500 DRW

Ray,IN
That's what I read too. Were it I, I would demand the latter tire. That 62 MPH maximum speed rating is a constant speed rating. Some tire mfgrs. say to increase tire pressure 10 psi if you plan to drive faster, don't know about the mfgr. of that specific tire. I do know tire sidewall flex builds heat, which is the major enemy of tires. A stiffer sidewall, operated with less tire pressure builds heat faster than with maximum pressure. 2000 Winnebago Ultimate Freedom USQ40JD, ISC 8.3 Cummins 350, Spartan MM Chassis. noteven
Usually commercial truck tire maxiumum speed max ratings are at maximum load. A Westlake rep may be able to give you a speed vs load table for those tires if they are "commercial" tires. "Are we there yet?" asked no motorcycle rider, ever.
